For the record, I still consider Baba/Dankalf to be much faster drivers than me, I think I've just found a way to gain more time from the gutters in a way that others might not know about.
If the better drivers were to really push this track to its limits after learning how to use the gutters, then I genuinely think we could see times as low as sub 20 with the 86 tuned. Maybe this video will help with that, but we'll see...
edit: Current record for this layout seems to be a 4:20 now (by Dankachu). I think I could definitely get close to that if I grinded this track out, but I would rather focus on others for now.

Agree, and they can put you in trouble if u fall in them unvolountarely. Infact I've reduced in the surfaces data of the touge the gutters grip down to about x7,5 "normal mu", the original one is quite too much unrealistic and they can litterally ruin a ran in a blink of an eye. With that 7,5 value, my record is 4:48 with Wataru's Turbo Levin.

Actually, how to use the gutter? I tried to use the gutter but the car juz bounced out. Is there any setup? I’m using default setup and the car understeer as hell, I need to make a really big steering angle to make the car turn in. My cornering speed is same as yours in the corners which don’t have gutters but the lap time comes out is 10second slower._.

watch how he lets his foot off the brake slowly while entering the corner. While going straight, he's basically braking fully while not locking up, but then as he wants to turn in, he eases off the brake, only when the car starts to slide do you finish letting off and then get back on the throttle lightly. Once the car settles, you can get a little more agressive with the throttle.

I don't know if the specific layout is available from the Touge Union discord anymore. Back when this track was still used there the server download link had a layout specific to the one that they ran on their servers. It had the boosted gutters (like the arcade layouts), but without the arcade track objects and slightly altered starting and finishing lines.

Yes, sorry it's sort of a leftover from how I used to name my videos before EK even started working on IDAS conversions. Back in 2019/2020 I used to name the videos that way to make the distinction from other popular versions of those passes (e.g. 2017 Akina), rather than it being a reference to which layout I was using.

You can see throttle/brake inputs on bottom right of HUD. I tend to feather my inputs rather than doing smooth increases/decreases. I couldn't say which method is better, but I find feathering inputs better for me at least.

The car itself is not a mod, it comes with Japanese pack DLC or Ultimate Edition of Assetto Corsa. It does have a refracting headlight extension and engine sound mod put over it though. These days, if you want a more high quality look for the 86 I would highly recommend instead using Jugee8's body swap mods. They're more ideal for running as people use the Kunos 86's as a standard for setting times. that versions unfairly fast atleast compared to regular ae's that mod is unrealistic(i know it doesnt claim to be) but comparing it to the mod i drive which is basically a realistic replica of the one from the anime it does not handle as insanely this one also does not have the 4AGE so that is another difference i guess that mod is very fun tho in terms of ridicolously good handling compared to the more realisticly set up ones disclaimer: im not trying to bash the car mod or anything im just saying that, that time was probably only possible due to the mod itself in being not particularly realistic overall tho clean run and ill take note on the gutter usage to improve my time

It's the Kunos AE86 Tuned (I.E the one from Japanese DLC), not a mod. It has a modded sound but it's not a different car.

I also have the jdm pack one. this one accels much faster. coming out of the turn at 1:27 we exit at the same speed and accelrate at the same time but I can only get it up to 85-88 mph by the next bend but you get up to 100mph. I also tried to make the turn at 88 mph with a lift and get thrown into the wall but you have much more grip and can get through at 95mph. The brakes on mine are trash . If I brake as late as you it slides into the guard rails. The fasted time I got was a 5:06 driving it flat out. I know it can go faster but its sure as hell an't got all most a full min in it.

Im not the same guy but I run an average of 4:36 so I can still help you. however , my analysis without seeing the video is that the tune on your cars is different. so you could use the shortest gears and also turn down the amount of gas you have in your car to 1 liter ( only if the server doesn't have gas depletion on) and also make sure you are using semislicks.

Not really fussed about no. of subscribers so that doesn't mean anything to me, but I do intend to give the realistic layout a go regardless. The extra grip + gutters on this layout make the times feel dependent on gimmicky factors and it takes away from the credibility of the run, so I don't like it for that. The main reason I did this time on this layout to start with is because I was challenged to by somebody else.
