Because no defensive player was drafted with a NFL record 14 offensive players drafted to start the draft. What did ring are they getting again? Only ring the overreacting crowd is wanting to sacrifice is the future possible one with Penix. (below 500 vs teams above 500 >> 16 wins and 47 losses) 4 playoff trips in 13 years 3 win in 13 Monday night football games (not that this is do or die but very telling when the lights are brightest) Likely won't be ready for training camp with a achilles rupture. I loved the draft. Our biggest need was getting the QB room right. We had the worst QB room in history arguably for 2 years. Pass rush was not terrible last year. You don’t need a 16 sack guy if everyone is getting a handful of sacks. We were middle of the pack in that category. However I would have liked a top corner I understand that the QB room is more important then the secondary room. They are literally “secondary” last line of defense. Our secondary was not trash last year either. Issue was turnovers and defense being on the field to long

The media were asking fair, sensible questions. The pick of Penix was a polarizing decision, a head scratcher for many. Mgmt and ownership deserve to be on the hotseat. Smith, just like the rest of them dance around questions with long drawn out answers trying to sound intelligent.

Matt didn’t fall off necessarily he just didn’t have the offensive scheme that led him to be so good. It seems they are trying to replicate it. Terri and Raheem always talk about aggressiveness, which was a huge piece that took us to that superbowl, I believe it is also what led us to lose that Super Bowl too.

It didn’t sound to me like he was stumbling over his words, trying to explain what happened with picking a QB at 8 after getting one during free agency. When different people continue to ask the same question in different ways after you have already answered with a long, simple explanation. They should EASILY be able to make good looking unis with that logo and colors! I wouldn’t mind if they went the more classic but modernized look or the full on modernized look. Just as long as it looks good and there’s more than just all black, all white, black on white, and white on black. Y’know? There’s SO much more they can do! I’ve got a few designs made as well. It is all just DOUBLE TALK no one on the FALCONS can explain why drafting Penix and signing Kirk to 100M deal makes sense! Both moves make sense IF you do only one of them by doing both you hurt winning now and winning later. They OUTHOUGHT themselves again. Here is the dead giveaway I thought 4 QBs would go before our pick. The only QB they would take was Penix so if they though 4 would go THAT IS WHY THEY SIGNED KIRK they thought Penix would be gone BUT ONLY THEY THOUGHT THAT which shows how bad they are at their jobs. EVERYONE KNEW IF the 4th QB went it would be JJ not Penix. This whole thing shows how incompetent this Front Office is. They loved Penix I get it they thought he would be gone by 8 and they were rebuffed on trading up so they signed Kirk.
