In 1968, I worked over night at a Clark Gas Station. In the wee hours of the morning, after the bars closed, when it was dead, I’d crank up the radio in the gas station, open the front door, and listen to this song, Incense&Peppermints, Honey, and other songs of that year. The station had floor to ceiling glass all around. The tunes would rattle those big windows, and that sweet experience has stayed with me from age 17, up to today at age 72. Man, it was a beautiful time for music.

The studio musicians did not play on all their songs and they had no creative input. The importance of the so-called Wrecking Crew has been exaggerated because of that documentary. They now get credit for things they didn't do because the documentary gave people the idea that they played on everything. There was no Wrecking Crew. That was a term made up by Hal Blaine many years later. Carol Kaye thought it was ridiculous because there was no group. They were hired hands, nothing more. Tommy Tedesco himself said he could never understand why the studio required studio musicians when the Association was capable of playing themselves.

To all those here complaining there's no good music anymore... It's still out there. You have to actively seek it. It isn't much on any commercial radio stations for sure. Goodbye and God bless you always, Terry Kirkman. You wrote and sang some incredibley beautiful songs for the world to 'Cherish', and this one, 'Everything That Touches You', will forever be a continuous favorite of ours, your devoted friends and fans of The Association. Rest in gentle peace, brother Terry.❤😢

I definitely agree, one of the BEST groups ever! I was born the year this song came out and grew up listening to my dad's Association records. I played their music all the time when my own now adult kids were growing up, they love the Association too. When I was young, I had a boy in high school call me for the first time and he didn't speak other than to tell me who was calling and then played Cherish on his record player, this was the 80's and that was an amazing thing to do lol! My daughter's wedding song was Never My Love. This song is so beautiful and one of my favorites!

How in the world did this song start playing in my mind and woke me up enough to need to hear it again at 2AM in the morning? I used to have it in cassette that my brother gave to me for Christmas and it was just released that year. I played that thing over and over so many times until the tape got a crease in it. So strange the song woke me up out of a sound sleep decades later! Guess I have to call my brother up and say Hi later this AM.

My two older sisters saw them in concert at our small county fair in the 60’s. Several of their songs are on my all-time favorites list. The song was running around in my head tonight when I woke up and I couldn’t place it. It took me a long time to get past all the Beyoncé and Jay Z lyrics to find this and this is gold.

A super classic. Notice how natural the band members look, people back then didn't ravage their faces with fillers, fake teeth, etc. They are just as they are. Some performers think they have to do all that, but really, they don't. Love this.

Dang it. These guys do this to me every time. It's the same thing with Cherish. They come out of the gate with what seems like some soppy uninteresting mush, and by the end it's pretty much the best thing I've ever heard and I'm compelled to listen to it 100 more times.

Me too. I was only 14 when the 60s ended, so I wish a bit that I'd been born somewhat earlier--Could've bought my brother's '66 Olds 442 ( a convertible; in NJ!) I've had some really memorable experiences in cars, but performance wise & that rush that comes with it--nothing topped riding in THAT car, particularly when he put his foot into it. That was real power. But I caught just enough of the 60s to get the flavor/mood, to get primed for the 70s--Also a great decade in many ways. (Sure, we can pick at it, & point out flaws; but we can do so for a lot of decades). But if there really is "Karma", and to not have upset the Space-Time Continuum, I reckon God put me where I needed to be--NOT ALWAYS where I WANTED to be. Wouldn't it be wild to see all the events unfold WITHOUT "You" (me)? I would want that angel to tell me what effect my absence had, like in "It's a Wonderful Life" . Yet I just don't know if I'd want to see what happened , starting back then without me, to the girl I started dating /got engaged to/broke up with /re-engaged to now. Reality was was quite enough for her & I the past 44 years.

I certainly wouldn't argue against it. Seeing The Association performing concert at the felt Forum and hearing them harmonize live was amazing. That was a great night as they shared the stage with Janice Ian who performed solo. She had just released Society's Child.

One of the sixties bands that I actually met at a personal appearance for a store opening near my house. The store was called Stars and it was in about 1966, or 67. WLS dee jays were there all day and the Association and the Buckinghams were two bands that were there. I got autographs from a few members of each band which I probably lost within a few weeks. The members of the Association were introduced, said a few words thanking people for buying their records and then sat at a table and wrote autographs for about a half hour, or so.

Just saw these guys last night in Buffalo NY. Great as always & even better is that my wife & I have become friends with Del Ramos Jim Yester Jules Alexander Jordan Cole who's dad Brian was the original bass player. Great human beings & a great band. This is coming from a hard rock bassist from Buffalo lol.

I had almost forgotten about this great song by The Association when it popped up one day as a random cut on my KZbin listening list. I am surprised this video has less than 23,000 views (as of April 29, 2019)....but then again, I have not heard this tune in years. I suspect it is a track that time has forgotten....but it's a song that has withstood the test of time, imho! How can that be? If it's not popular, then how can I say that? Well, if one judges things strictly on the scale of popularity, I suppose it can be said that this tune has not survived the test of time, but then again, listening to and enjoying music is a truly human experience (well, perhaps the song birds are one exception to that rule!) -- so, to this listener's ear, this song has withstood the test of time! There are many old tracks from the 1960s and '70s that sound awful to me today, although they might have sounded pretty good to me back in my youth. "Everything that Touches You" is rarely ever played any more-- not even on the 60s channel over at SiriusXM! Wow! It still sounds great to me with those harmonies and minor chords -- and what a treat to see this song matched up with an original (good quality) video by the band! Great treat here! I find myself re-playing this video 2 or 3 times at a sitting. I suppose the younger crowd (Millenials, Zeroes and such) will not find much to like here, but this song truly evokes some great memories for me! Thanks, Moon doggy for refreshing my memory with this one!

You'd be surprised how many young people and millenials love this music, even though it was before their time. There are comments from young people on this page which indicate the same. Great music is timeless, it touches something in all of us.

It's the radio programmers ideas of today that only scratch the surface with their music selection. The song had to chart or make a move in a movie or other to be played. Too bad, that's not how it works. I was in grammar school when this band came out and remember the music on AM radio. Remembered it in late 70's in college. Thankfully, a locally programmed oldies station where I live has it in rotation, thanks to local programming. They also play The Cowsills, Richard Harris, Malo, Left Bank, & New Colony Six. I yet to hear these songs or groups on any station anywhere.
