I guess most vaporwave fans today were born between '85-'95 and this kind of music accompanied our first exposure to television, radio, video games, pop, supermarkets, commercials, sport and computers. All of those exposure events triggered huge amounts of serotonin and awe in our infant mids, and that's why it's still such a high to listen to it today.

It's a bit funny, as I'm just barely too young to have experienced that aesthetic (born in '98) yet I lobe this music and the synth-heavy music of the 80s (I adore the Kung Fury soundtrack, for example) I feel the reason I personally like this aesthetic is not due to nostalgia, but instead a love for the synthesizers used, or maybe even it stems from the popularity of the nostalgia-drenched style on the Internet. I've always been that kind of person who is very nostalgic and reminds the 90's or even the 80's (this last one is funny, cause i wasn't even born yet) as a wonderful, happy, dreamy era and when i first ran into Vaporwave, i was like: This is amazing. Godamn I know that Vaporwave is all, "Huehuehue le maymay dank JAPANESE a e s t h e t i c" but I really enjoy this. It's like when I would listen to songs that had very vaporwave-ish brief moments in them I was always wishing there could be a whole genre of music on just those parts. I've finally found that genre.

We listen with our ears, we remember with our limbs, we devour with our eyes and I have the taste of ice cream that I ate in my father's E36 black BMW in ´99... amazing.
