Every time I see Astarion on his knees in such pain I wish we were given the option to run over and hug him tightly! It pulls at my heart to see him suffering so 😢 He is and always will be my favourite character in BG3 and the way you have made this video, the scenes, the music and voice clips is a work of Art!😍 I know I will be watching this over and over again, silently comforting sweet Astarion ❤️

@@leila13dnd To be honest, sometimes... when we are going through that brutal catharsis we need to feel through it. Having someone rush over to hug us, might be overwhelming at the time. I'm personally happy we get to be there as silent observers. When ready, we are there for them.

Yeah but his breakdown is a step to healing himself. True vampires in D&D are evil and only have twisted, corrupted versions of their emotions (true love becomes possessive obsession), and him Ascending is literally him becoming the thing he's always hated (the abused becoming the abuser and continuing the cycle of abuse). Him staying a spawn is him healing from his abuse and moving forward with his life. Sure for a while he's denied the sun again, but he's free in all other respects and again, this being a fantasy world, you can choose to say you'll start another quest to find a way for him to walk in the sun again- this time without having to worry about the tadpoles or Cazador and his minions hunting you down.

I'm always such a fan of your more softer and subtle edits. I really love how well you expressed Astarion's emotional side in this one. I also love seeing the connection he has with Amon. I love the focus on their relationship in this so much!!! (aside from it being lustful LOL). It always breaks my heart hearing him cry too UGH!!! Also that part with Sebastian too. I will never get over it. I also love the voicovers you chose throughout the video too. Espcially when he mentions about never having an actual friend in his 200 years of life. You paired Astarion’s lines so perfectly with the lyrics of the song…Especially the one about Astarion not being able to remember a single friend followed by the ouch lyric. Yes. That was ouch.
