Fun fact for those who didn't know yet this marines are called the retributors chapter they are fan made chapter but later became cannonized and they are part imperial fist gene line.

01:49 That was not a boarding torpedo, that was a Caestus Assault Ram. You can see boarding torpedoes in the intro for the Space Hulk: Deathwing videogame. The assault ram is a very different beast.😉

You sure? Caestus would be quite large (for a team of 5) and would be 2-pronged at the front, this was only one. Seems to be a regular boarding torpedo to me (albeit with some decent point defense built in)

10:30 They are from the Astartes faction, but these guys are reported to be Retributors, who unlike Blood Angels are not concerned with honour, but are just really good at getting the job done whatever means necessary

Retributors are his homebrew chapter. They're an offshoot of the imperial fists. They definitely act like dorn boys XD. Right down to the fact that they're not very codex-compliant, they mainly operate in small 5-man squads doing various bits and bobs all over the place, usually taking on things that have zero chance of winning against them, assuring that a large collection of small victories will add up to something much greater.

The sphere things are warp entity xenos. There are ones close to what they are, Enslavers, but the galaxy was vast with random xenos during the crusades, like the Sloth.

This space marine chapter in Astartes video is called the Retributors they are a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists so they are gene-sons of Rogal Dorn. They are now kinda canon now because the guy who made this now works for GW.

Sodaz used to make quality WH40K animations too but got removed by GameWorkshop cause from what i heard he was offer a to work with GW but he decline so GW remove all of his WH animations, you can still found the animation reuploaded on yt by other fans

After watching this masterpiece being reacted to by 50+ people, some completely new to 40k (myself included) and some being veterans with very in depth knowledge, there's only one scene in "Astartes" that doesn't makes sense for me. And maybe someone else can right the wrong for me here. Beware, this is looking for the hair in the soup, I think we all agree that this is exceptionally detailed work and an impressive feat of skill and endurance. So, when we see the soldier being halfed and falling to the floor, he is surrounded by the group of soldiers that get cut down by the multilaser in the next scene. But the astartes is shown to walk towards that corridor after that one guy dying and didn't have a line of sight to shoot him yet.

I believe the halved guy was killed in the hallway next to the one the multilas was guarding. I imagine it like a giant L corridor, the guy got halved before everyone turns the corner, hence why they don’t open up until the guy sees the marine.
