If you could explain why the horizon is higher on the left side for a left turn I'd appreciate it.

I like to picture it this way: If you put your arms out like an airplane wing and lean to the left, that's a left turn. So if you take your phone camera, aim it at the horizon, and lean it to the left, you'll see that the land rises up the left side of the screen. Eventually, if you keep leaning, the land will continue rising up until the entire left side of the screen is land, and the entire right side is sky. In that orientation, you would be in a fairly dramatic left turn. Hope this helps!

This is the same spatial aperception test used in the U.S. ASTB

This portion of the ASTB is no longer in use. It has been replaced with the Drone visualization. This only applies to the SIFT now.

Alright so I got it finally, hold a book 6 inches infront of your face with both hands... if you bend your neck to the right the right side lifts up. Same for bending it to the left. This doesnt seem to be a very effective measurement tool but alas is the test we have to take.

Mr. Thomas ...at 5:25 why is the plane banking right? The left side is down while the right side is up so shouldn't it be turning left?

I know this is a year later but for those of you wondering why at 5:25 the plane is turning right when the image looks like he's turning left, here's the way I look at it. You need to focus on the "Dashboard" of the plane not only on the horizon line. Find something level near you or hold up a pencil like the horizon. Now picture yourself in a plane. Focusing on your "dash" when you bank right, which side of the pencil goes up? In this case, the right side would. Make sense?

So I have been looking at some of these problems separately from your video and just like in your first example (aircraft E) the aircraft will appear dark or as a silhouette. It looks like that C and E are pretty much the same in your example.... does a silhouetted aircraft mean its flying towards you? Thanks for your vid bro

Yes, the ASTB is how they select you to be a pilot.
