I know that in the handpan community there is a lot of resistance in players using Chinese Made Handpan and initially there was good reason. The sound was horrible they didn't stay in tune etc.
However the handpan industry has exploded and on the scene is a company that isn't a fly by night but started with Musicians disatisfied with the handpan climate in China, .They wanted to create a handpan that was both beautiful sounding looking and yet didn't break the bank. This company is Asteman. I have to say that I have watched a lot videos and could clearly see that there instruments rose above the rest that I heard from comapnies just trying to break into a good market. This company actually has pride in making these instruments. They have an extensive website with lots of educational material. They offer outstanding customer service and they have a very good and solid reputation in China. I think it's time the rest of the world gives them a chance .
After all after the original Hong Drum was made and the company made it difficult to purchase and then stopped making handpans many many new artisans decided to start creating these amazing instruments. I have one such instrument which i love that costs a lot more than the Asteman but is made in New Jersey. This handpan from Asteman doesn't diminish that love. it adds to it. Now people can have handpans in different scales. I know that It has been difficult to learn with the exotic scale I had chose for my first handpan but the Asteman that they sent me is in a very good scale to learn. It is a D kurd. A type of D minor scale and many of the respected handpan teacher that I am taking lessons from use this scale ( Master the Handpan and most of the teachers ) I am very happy and proud to be sponsored by this company. The handpan came within 5 days from China and it was packed so well. It came with a stand and a pretty rope braid and an amazing Carrying case that is functional and yet very pretty. I can't wait to take this handpan to the park or to concerts that I do. I feel happy that they also have a one year warranty for tuning and any other problems.

The video came out great. Nice looking/sounding handoan. You need to play that baby by a river or something. The 432hz tuning should work great in nature.

I don't recommend you slap the handpan like that you got to get a better technique or you going to put it out of tune!

I was thinking that this will be fun to use especially that it’s in an accessible scale. Although it’s tuned to 432 pitch It probably will still work. I think my reface can be retuned. I have to check

Most if not all electronic instruments can be retuned. Check master tuning in the menu, or on an analog mono synth like the Grandmother use the master tune knob.
