A rather rare but not uncommon sight: I their later years the most elegant of all SBB steam locomotives, the A3/5 700 series designed by the Swiss Locomotive Works in Winterthur, were not just used to pull fast trains but also used for slower goods trains in the Swiss midland.
The Aster 1:32 scale 4-cylinder compound live steam model has been slightly modified: a crosshead driven mechanical feed water pump replaces the axle driven pump under the tender and the steaming rate was improved by fitting a blast pipe with a smaller diameter (which also makes speed adjusting easier). Last but not least new safety valves ensure that the pressure does not drop to much when blowing off and ensure a steady running speed.
The goods trains mainly consist of Frisa 1:32 goods vans plus some Marklin stock.
