If you're watching this video before seeing anything else of the game, please don't think these repetitive boss fights represent the quality of the whole game. It is very fun and full of videogame references, much more inventive than this; it's so strange that, with so much they could parody, they decided to settle for the same boss repeated four times. Maybe it was due to restricted development times (the original 2005 version was released just 18 months after the first XXL).

So they make the third boss easier because there is no romans spawning there, but they make the final boss harder

I prefer Cesar’s design from XXL reomastered where he wears his wearing and golden laur and I think that 100 Cesars is tiriva to 100 senators that killed Cesar betrayed by Brutus

the game memes other games. u will find mario enemies and other game enemies. there is a mario sunshine tribute level as well and also a sonic level.
