On the 60th anniversary of the much-adored comic book series, Asterix and Obelix embark on a quest across Gaul looking for a young druid worthy of learning the secret of the magic potion - a formula which has long helped to keep the Gaulish village safe against Julius Cesar and his invading army. However, once Asterix and Obelix begin their quest, all hell breaks loose at home as the Romans start attacking the village, and an evil wizard named Sulfurix does everything he can to steal the potion's secret recipe.

FYI, 'Secret of the Magic Potion' is the second Asterix movie animated in 3D. The first one, 'Mansions of the Gods', came out a couple of years ago and it's really good, I highly recommend that you check it out - I saw it in French though, I don't know if the English dub is any good.

Asterix was a big part of my childhood. My dad had a huge collection of comics and I read all of them. Will definitely watch this. Between this, Adventures of Tintin, Smurfs and the Lost Village, The Peanuts Movie and Into the Spiderverse, I think we're living a great time for animated comic book movies. I love it. Around 15 years back this series of cartoons were dubbed and televised on a local channel.. apparently the dubbing was so good that it actualy became realy famous over here.. so we were the generation that never had smart phones or internet, and this was our childhood..

I feel so fortunate that, while I am a proud American, I got to spend so much of my youth overseas (11 years in Singapore, and 4 in Indonesia) The Asterix books aren't available in the US but I got to grow up with them anyway.
