I always get lost for words when it comes to that car. I will say that you are one of the most hardest working car guy out there and you certainly deserved to win Top Street Machine Award. I really wanted to win that car and if it had been with me all those years, I'd had kept it supremely mint and cherished it immensely. Not taking away anything from Mario, but what was he thinking with the gawdy flames and grille treatment ?? Yuk. It ruined it. The 30 year anniversary was a Blessing to Mario and I'd be on my knees thanking you for the hard work you put to refresh it the way you did. The car looked as good as it did way back then. Rock 3 is truly an iconic car. Thank you for the memories Howard. Also a big thank you to your daughter for her editing work too. I know how much time that takes ! God Bless.

I actually only ever seen the car mmm around 30 years ago when H had it out the back and over a pit of the now infamous Jim Mock Ford. The dealership was closed on that day and a good mate was an apprentice there and he called me to say it was going to be there. The two things i most recall was the underside was better paint than any car i had ever seen. The second thing was H swung the drivers door open right next to a pallet of scrap and junk and as he nonchalantly swung door open and reflex grabbed the window frame it stopped about two mm from hitting a piece of angle hanging out the pallet. It happened so quickly i had no time to warn H and luckily it didnt hit, but i often remember thinking how one little scratch would have been an insufferable amount of work to fix. Great vid btw and kept me watching every minute of it. THANKS H.

Absolutely loved this episode Howard, was a really great trip down memory lane. Mario had allowed me to spend a lot of time with the Falcon, you know, for research purposes 😂 Really great that this show visualised a lot of aspects to the car that you just don’t see in magazines. Sadly, in the recent Sydney storms, the ceiling in the garage failed and gyprock sheet tore loose and landed on the roof of the Falc. It’s been relocated elsewhere until he can get the damage sorted out.

This is a fantastic series. Brings back memories of high school and flicking through street machine mag with friends, might just have to run through them again for old times sake. Hi Howard, loved the episode (and all the shows), and this car was inspirational for me in the 90s and still today. Regarding the door locks, you mention it was an engineer's requirement to have the buttons on the outside after shaving the locks. Is this still the case in NSW? Thanks.

Hi first of all I want to say love the channel and like watching someone that has an eye for detail but Rock 3 what's happening with those panel gaps.i know you said it was 30 years ago but that doesn't cut it with me.we used to go to the dealers back then and the first thing you looked at on a car was all the panel gaps and if they were bad.i don't mean perfect but as good as ford were doing back then.no car should have been judged with a boot sitting like that they obviously cared more about innovation then quality.every time I opened the garage and looked at it I would be annoyed. Anyway I know you have definitely addressed those issues as you progressed and it's also good to know someone else cleans the inside of their wheels when they wash their car. Keep up the good work with the show
