Nice! I remember going round the Aston factory in the mid 80's , when they still pushed the engine and trans across a main road on a cart to be mated to the shell IIRC. Things have come a long way since those days LOL.

What’s your view on these newer cars racing in historic events? Are they as thrilling to watch as the 60s GT’s?
@Italiansupercarvideo3 жыл бұрын
Personally not, the 1960s GTs are demanding and very physical; they have a driving dynamics that require a lot of work to keep the car on the track and make it go fast. Seeing those cars racing is a lot of fun. Having said that, I'm equally happy to see these new categories dedicated to endurance and GT cars from a few years ago because, in this way, they can continue to race. For many reasons, I have never been able to see many of them except on TV, and now instead, they are all cars that take to the track, I can hear their sound live, see the dynamics on the circuit and this, personally, is a great pleasure. This is the right way to save motorsport, create many categories divides for years and allow every car, old or newer, to not remain stationary and unused. A car built to race must do it, regardless of age.

@@Italiansupercarvideo Totally agree! I’ve watch the 60s car quite a bit and they look really good fun to drive, powersliding out of corners. As you said these historic event allow cars to continue racing rather than being locked away because of their lack of eligibility. I’m very happy to have them in the same event provided that they don’t take away the entertaining 60s car. Also being able to see cars that for what ever reason you were unable to see during the racing year is brilliant and to hear the sounds.

one of my favourite events to go to was the mid ohio "vintage" weekend, one of the races included a bunch of modern-ish gts, including the robetson racing ford gt gt2 cars which raced at le mans, sadly they won't be coming anymore because the main owner, david robertson passed away, but it was a great way to watch them and other cars of the same era kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3atcntngK6hjNE this guy did a video on it pretty much as soon as they started, such a great sound, I'm going to miss that era

It sounds like a GM product. Fords sound much better than this.
@Italiansupercarvideo3 жыл бұрын
Most likely, it is due to the type of exhaust system. This is still a naturally aspirated V8 engine, not the loudest but has a good sound 😉
@upsidedowndog12563 жыл бұрын
@@Italiansupercarvideo Not to my V8 ears. It sounds like a Chevy pickup truck. I hate Chevy pickup sounds. Fords can rev to the moon, sounds really good.
