Hey guys; awesome video. I’m a lifelong Astorian. I LOVE this video. I’m making an Astoria based album and wrote a song called Astoria Park. We used a couple of short scenes from your video; I hope that’s cool with you guys. The project is called MIAstoria. Thanks for this masterpiece. It’s AWESOME!!!!!!!!!✌️

I live in Astoria. In the summer, there are a bunch of older guys who hang out on Shore Blvd showing off their old cars. I wonder if some of those guys are in this video.

Because of the bicyclists and joggers, there are no longer any cars allowed on shore Blvd. I miss the old Astoria, before the changes. Such a different vibe now.

We were hanging out on the shore in 82 if you were born in 1982 by time you were old enough we were Adults. We used to swim in Astoria Pool at Night in the summer cops never bothered us our friend was the "Parkee" we walked through an open gate. The shore never closed. No body complained. A certain local politician's son try to play Big Boss Man and they put him in a garbage can. They put poles to block the street of so we couldn't drive through we ripped them out😂

It was so fun and beautiful back then, now unfortunately Astoria park is ruin, 😕. You got punks riding their dirt bike all over the parks , drunks and pot heads everywhere, people throwing garbage everywhere. What a shame.

Back when Astoria was affordable and full of, well, ASTORIANS born and raised. Place sickens me now. Btw, I was living out in Whitestone so Franny Lew was our spot but every once in a while we'd make the trip in to see what was hapenning in Astoria. Great time to be young.

I would say around 1983/84. Around the 1:35 mark I want a new drug by Hewey Lewis and the News is playing that song is from that time period. I was born in Astoria in 76, and we lived there up until mid 1985. So I was probably down there when they did this. I used to the park quite often with my family I remember these car shoes. Fun to watch these videos.

Judging by the fact that “Thriller” was playing from one of the cars early in the video, and since Thriller was released in November of 1982, then this video is Summer of 83’, earliest.
