Cut the old exghuast open so we can see how much oil is still in there like if you agree

Congrats on a job well done. Small hint though - the threads of exhaust U clamps should be facing up toward the floor of the car or sideways. That way they'll have clearance from big bumps or whatever crap might be lying on the road.

Nice series on the Astra James. Check out that front O2 sensor, seen so many Bosch ones get a really slow response as they age. Use your scan tool, look at live data and hold the engine at 2000rpm. If the readings are changing rapidly and going over the full range, or at least 200 to 700mV, it's still good. If they sway up and down over the course of a few seconds, it's had it. That will likely cause you some flat spots and even a chance of a P0420 catalyst efficiency code.

Why dont you Cut the flange off the old back box and have a go at welding it on the irmscher backbox yourself?
@terryatkinson8996 жыл бұрын
Cut the flange and pipe off the pea shooter and use that over the pipe on the double d box. You cut a slot in the box pipe and spread it to allow the other pipe slide inside it then bracket them together. Good work done on the engine.

Hi, like your vids. The gap in rear spoiler is to improve air flow under the car ,let it flow out. Just bend bars on exhaust box down to raise it up no parts needed.

Was that new exhaust pipe blowing out the welds on the down pipe?? great job on the engine rebuild btw
@BenofYoutube6 жыл бұрын
Only the later mk4s had the bolt on fixing, the rest were slide on. Most people just chop it off and either weld them on or use a sleeved. A lot easier

Was somebody actually driving the Astra around like that with it smoking before you got it? Great job! Bet you feel so satisfied, and that all the small frustrations were worth it. You've earned a beer on this haha. Are you a Vauxhall fan - having this Astra, other Astra's previously and the Corsa's, or is it just because they're readily available, affordable and parts are plentiful...?
