I am struggling to find replacement seat cables for my Astra as one of the cables has snapped so it wont tilt, where did you get replacement cables from? most appreciated if you could let me know

Great video, it really helped for replacing the broken cable on my passenger seat. Couple of tips for anyone else needing to replace theirs; 1. The plastic trim around the leaver on the top off the seat, has 4 push in clips that need pushing in (not shown being removed in the video). They are on the vertical sides of the trim and need pushing in from the inside of the seat. Unfortunately I prised mine off from the outside, breaking the clips off due to the lack of access to the clip. 2. My Seats are leather, the seats are slightly different, but the process is still the same, *however* there is less access to the top of the seat, making removing and replacing the metal clip at 12:32 much harder to do (I had to _'feel'_ my way around). alexK661 gives good advice below (if only I had read it), apparently *you can put the clip in before replacing the upholstery,* and the lever will just push back in. 3. The edges of the seats are very sharp, so a pair of latex gloves would hep (I cut the back of my hands without gloves). 4. I didn't need to lift the base off my seat (04:14 in the video) this might only be the case on leather seats.

I'm really struggling with the top clip and I have SE2 seats. Can't see the top or get access to it.

@@LondonCanary1902 are your seats leather? My seats are leather and I had to squeeze my hands up and 'feel' my way around. It was a struggle, but certainly worth the effort to get the tilt working again. I would recommend using some thin gloves as I cut my hands squeezing them in to the gap. Good luck. 😀👍

@@TheMirrorGuy they are leather. I managed to squeeze the metal clip and pull out the lever without needing to pull the metal clip out luckily.

FYI: the tilt lever securing clip should be fitted onto the mechanism before fitting the upholstery back on the seat and the lever just pushes in and gets secured into place
