Astral is certainly not a regular synth. The concept is novel, and sounds are made by applying dynamic probability functions to different sound parameters. Probabilistic FM can be easily achieved in Astral, and in fact this particular example employs FM. Both FM depths and modulator frequencies come from probability functions. Thanks for being in touch. Hello and thanks for the question! Not at the moment. The long term plan for Astral however includes hosting VST plugins as well as an API for coding custom signals, effects, and 3D spatialization mechanisms.
