I have also never seen such a game made by their own company to make them go this far into their history of game catalogs and other companies' game catalogs other than Super Smash Bros. *UNTIL* this game came out, I was fully expecting them to include their own IPs in the game but going as far as to put in *RAIDEN, OCTODAD, KNACK, AND EVEN THE PATAPONS* it is crazy man, I mean they are game publishers but them doing this is like more of a one in a million chance scenario than someone during a triple bottle flip on their own caps with empty bottles. In an interview with the devs they didn't specifically go out of their way to ask publishers to include their characters in the game. A lot of the time the publishers went to Team Asobi and offered them to be included. At the very least Team Asobi said we are making this game would you like to be included in it, and most publishers jumped at the chance. For Final Fantasy not sure what went on cause Square Enix is usually quite protective of their IPs, heck in Playroom only Cloud's sword was referenced. We may see them in DLC though. As for Twisted Metal it may have been a rights thing cause Paramount is doing the show so there's hoops to go through to have those characters in other things now.

Cannot tell you how much I appreciate this because the number of times I had to look up the more obscure cameos while playing the game… Also, they should definitely release those remixes of the theme music for the secret characters 🤭 they actually slap!

Smash Bros Melee, Brawl, and Wii U/3DS: We have a gallery that showcases numerous properties from our company and our third parties in the form of trophies. Astro Bot: Hold my gears. Granted I think referencing other games was handled a bit better in the aforementioned Smash Bros games because the also contain a description of the trophies as well as where they are from instead of have to guess what game it originated.

@@sinteleon I only mentioned Melee, Brawl, and Smash 4 is because the trophies in those games utilizes 3D models for the trophies (even if in the other two uses models from preexisting games), descriptions, and where they originated from. While the spirits in Ultimate do tell where the spirit is from, the don’t have the description of who or what the characters or items are and they’re all just PNG’s that you can find on Google.

I was amazed to see William Adams from Nioh and the Hunter from Bloodborne get an Astrobot. Spyro and Crash look amazing... and I started tearing up when I saw the monkeys from Ape Escape and made me realize just how badly Sony did them dirty.... especially since that game is one of the big selling points for the Dualshock Joysticks.
