I am more and more fascinated by the engineering that goes into designing brick built kits. The end result is really cool.

I have no idea where you would even start designing a kit like this. It's very clever.

HA! Even Dr. Tenma never built a ‘bot that fast! 😀

That's pretty awesome I remember watching the cartoons in the 80

He's such an iconic character. And still well loved.

I hadn't done any brick builds in ages before this past Christmas, when my nephew gave me a kit for Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber. A simple enough build, but I DELIGHTED in the fun of making it, and I loved the finished product so much that I rummaged in my old Lego bins and made a display stand for the saber. Your video reminded me how much fun that was, and I might need to go find some new kits now!

Epic Dave!! I love building kits like this. It truly is calming and therapeutic. This one turned out beautifully! It’s so cool looking and Astro Boy is such an iconic character. This is a must have for any collector that grew up in the 80’s. The lights really set it off too. Cheers!

I'm a HUGE Astroboy fan, so this video got a like right away. I wouldn't have the patience to put it together myself, but it does look cool.

It's really worth getting. The kit is so well designed. I will most likely take it apart and rebuild it again so I can enjoy it without the camera in the way. It's such a clever design.

I would love some transformers version of this.

What an amazing kit. Top build Dave 👏

Thanks. It was a really fun kit to build. I can see why it's not for kids as it's really complicated. I went wrong a couple of times along the way but soon got back on track.

Dude how damn cool is that man.

Thanks for another amazing review. If i were you i would send Tazuka a message with an updated or modified build for their electronic wiring on the Astro boy toy. Maybe they will make a version 2 thx to Toy Polloi :-)
@toypolloi Жыл бұрын
I'm going to see what I can do to tidy those wires up. Even just some ribbed tubing similar to what was used elsewhere would really help. It just needs hiding.

@@toypolloi The buildingblocks look alot like Lego. Maybe there are some blocks to run a wire trough?

I appreciate the articulation included, could have easily have just made a statue. He's an enduring character and influenced many, don't think we'd have Mega Man without Astro Boy. Premium priced item but it does come with a lot of features. :D

Great model, Mr Toy Polloi. (I think you have the tile on his heart rotated slightly from the instructions. It looks like the pattern goes horizontally across the heart.)

Well spotted. I put it back wrong when I added the lights. Will fix that later.

I bought one of these last year. It is indeed a super fun build. Worth every penny.

Totally agree! The design is amazing. So much clever use of bricks to make his inner workings. Now I just need to find somewhere to display him.

Hey Dave That was pretty cool watching it being built...my anxiety shot up when you mixed the 1st 2 packages onto the bench...haha Hope you are both doing well. Take care of one another 🙂

What a fantastic , awesome figure . This is cool . It look like some kind of cybog . Thanks for the show " build " and tell . You move as Steve Austin . Both bionic . 🤔🙄🤖 .lol. How tall is it ? . I am sure you can " improve " the wiring.

Thanks for watching. It's a really fun kit. He's about 30cm tall when complete.

Hello, Toy Polloi! This is a bit of a random question, but I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to remove scratches from plastic?
@toypolloi Жыл бұрын
You can get plastic restorers for cars. They come in a few bottles. The first will is abrasive to gently sand, then the rest polish. It does all depend on the plastic how well it works.
@BrynSmith76 Жыл бұрын
Awesome, I really like it. How do the bricks compare to Lego?
@toypolloi Жыл бұрын
They are pretty close. Not quite the perfection of Lego's bricks as far as fit goes, but very good none the less.

Oh wow, I caught sight of this and stopped what I was doing & hammered my phone screen immediately. I love Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom).. even a lot of the modern more grown up takes such as Pluto or Atom (ongoing) are a delight. The Hollywood movie was awful though. First time I ever head Nick Cage phoning his lines in. :/
@toypolloi Жыл бұрын
I did watch the Hollywood version but it lacked the charm. This though is really nice.

LEGO really missed the boat by not presenting this kit first.
