I liked that I found it to not just be a simple Aeon's End reskin, and instead it justified itself as its own thing.

Fun fact. I’ve never played Aeon’s End, but I do have the legacy version of that game on my shelf of shame lol #OneDay

@@BoardGameCoffee legacy is a great starting point for AE as it slow walks the concepts to you. Then the legacy sequel, which closes out that narrative is the best one yet!

@@blakecurry3880 That’s what I like to hear. i’m working on building a legacy table. Basically a table dedicated to legacy games. When that’s done I’ll catch up on all my legacy stuff :)

@@BoardGameCoffee shame, shame shame. never let aeons end just sit with out being played at least once. it is one of the best (my opinion the best) game there is especially the legacy side of it, the story is all connected too so its one continuous story from each wave. get it to your table and enjoy your coffee while playing it.

Nice video, having played all the non-legacy Aeon's End content, this seems very similar in terms of gameplay, is some streamlining there (Nemesis deck, market, Gravehold having an ablity, slots being easier among a few other things), Overpower is similar to an ablity in Shards of Infinity, nice way of not having to clog a deck with cards if an building up for an ablity isn't as useful. Not sure it's different enough to make it worth owning both really.

The spin-dial is a bad choice. No only do I hate those things, but the printed card of health looks so much more ominous. As you take away the boss's health, you would get the visual reward of seeing the marker move down those rows. Publishers need to remember the emotional impact a component has on you--not just whether it is nifty or not.
