In this video, I try out the new ZWO AM5 mount for some deep-sky astrophotography in the backyard. I was able to collect over 10 hours of exposure time (over multiple nights) on the Elephant's Trunk Nebula in the constellation Cepheus!

I’m 17 years old and I’m soon starting my second year in high school and I want to become an astronomer and seeing your videos just makes me want that dream even more. I dream of sitting in my backyard, looking up in the night sky and having an awesome telescope setup to take pictures of the world beyond earth. Hi Trevor. I had the same issue with my new HEQ5 Pro mount with both pro and plus without going to home after each target. Now I make sure I go to home after every target and when it is finished. Thanks for the new video. Clear Skies!

Looks like great new backyard and also good review on AM5! I agree a lightweight goto mount like this could be a game changer! I got a cem40 for its lightweight vs a eq6 but AM5 is a whole different level for portability

Great video! I just received my AM5 a week ago, but too cloudy and rainy- and will be for the next week. No whining about heat (that’s my department!). I can’t remember the last time it’s been below 90/70’s (temp/dew point). Looking forward to more updates on the AM5!
