Actually, "delay" setting is extremely useful if you want to draw smooth lines with sharp angles. Because you actually have to push the circle away to make the marking tip advance, you can simply stop pushing, change direction, and then push again and WOW, you get a perfectly sharp angle. It also is really good to continue a line that is already drawn, as it will help you match the flow of the line by showing you the angle at which you are at regarding the line. This setting is a bit hard to get used to, but once you get it is amazing, as for example to draw eyes. It is also really convenient when drawing with mouse, as you tend to move slower and more linear when you use a mouse and delay works well with that. Thanks for the tutorial btw !

I have been playing around with the Krita configurations tab for a near literal three hours in an attempt to get rid of the input "dead-zone" that occurs around the cursor on account of the "Delay"-option in the tool tab... I can't believe it was that simple. nearly went mad over the blasted thing. Thank you, honestly.

Oh wow. This is so helpful thank you. I have just finished my first cell shaded picture on Krita. I use the stabilizer and my lines are nice and smooth. This is amazing! :D I am used to fully rendering stuff with realistic shading and texture. Cell shading is something that I am new at. I completed my first one. It looks nice and decent. It is also quick. If I did the picture my normal way, I would still be working on it. Cell shaded is good for getting stuff out quick. It is good for things requiring a high quantity of pictures. The most difficult part is making smooth linework. This video was very helpful for that. I just switch the brush smoothing in the tool options from weighted to stabilizer. There is a tradeoff. The stabilizer is good for linework, because it is nice and smooth. However it does make the drawing process slower. So it is best to turn that off when doing sketching and coloring. I have recently learned that clipping masks in a thing for more 2D kind of art. Personally I would rather fill in the color manually instead. When I do so, I add in cell shading. One local color would have many countless shades blended together, if I shade my normal way. With cell shading. I just have three. There is the main color, the shade and the tint. I apply them accordingly. I figured that roughly half of the picture should get the main color. Then the shade and tint get roughly a quarter each. It is great to learn new things in art.

This is what I needed to get straight lines on my $60 Wacom (cheapest one I could find, since I'm not a pro artist.) I just wanted to try doing some anime. Works really well now. The other issue I had by default with krita was the brush tip. If you set it to auto-spacing, it will not digitize it at all. Thanks, because the main issue was solved by your tutorial and the other issue I had figured out by trial and error prior to going to KZbin. By default, tool options didn't even show on the right and I didn't really notice the tab for it. Thanks again. You helped me a lot!

It should have the assistant option in 3.3.3. I would recommend upgrading to 4.0 though, since it just released. I don't know of a way to copy and paste in one layer but you can just merge it down by right clicking the new layer and selecting the merge down option or pressing ctrl-e EDIT: I put ctrl j which duplicates layers instead of ctrl e.
