Astrology Books for Beginners

A lot of beginner astrology books are overwhelming. There is so much to memorize and put together before you can even begin to understand your birth chart. Here are my top picks if you want to understand yourself without all the memorization.

HA! on Christopher Renstrom’s description of Capricorn Sun, Scorpio rising! He actually has met you, though! I think his Cosmic Calendar is very accessible, too. Joanne Martine Woolfolk is the author of The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need, and curiously enough, I have apparently owned it for decades. I ran across it not long ago and pulled it out. I need to read Chani Nicholas’s book; I really like her, especially for traditional astrology. However, although it’s substantial, April Elliot Kent’s The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology is excellent and accessible, too. Finally, there’s Write Your Own Horoscope by Jane Struthers, and it’s also excellent.
