Thanks for your videos. I like this Astrolux a lot but I'm looking at the Acebeam K70 too and am wondering if the price difference ($79 vs $169) is an indication of quality. Both look great in the videos. Price is an important factor but I don't want something that's half the price and fails within a year. What do you think? Thanks!

When they say 3000 lm for 2.5 hours, does that mean it maintains 3000 lumen output for all that time, or when does it drop to 1800?
@CharlesBridgTec

This light depending on your batteries used will cycle down alittle but maintain about 2200 lumens but as batteries drain light output will drop. This has very good heat sinking for extended runtimes. Thanks for watching!

@damaylaphoenix1155

I have the p30 , it is nice but I am not impressed with the range . I also have the ec4gt. I don't know if I got a over achieving example but its rated at 475 meters and it shoots just as far. the p30 have a slightly wider hot spot and spill (not enough to justify the larger bezel) but its dirtier. a lot of bleeding. the ec4gt beam is tighter and the hot spot has no bleeding . its as clean as a good pair of binoculars. also the ec4gt feel awesome in the hand and is unbelievably lite . I smile when I pick it up and lol when I turbo. it look like a alien tool. a lightsaber when it on. if your not going to mount on a gun , I would go with the ec4gt or ec4gts (coming soon). I own 10 nitecore lights and 25 flashlights total and pound for pound, the nitecore ec4gt is the best thrower for the size.
@nicksixer
@nicksixer 6 жыл бұрын
Damayla Phoenix, I have the EC4GT as well. It is a tad longer and heavier than the P30 and the EC4GT uses 2 batteries compared to the one battery in the P30. I love my EC4GT and it does have plenty of tight bright throw, seemingly hotter spot than the P30, but the P30 is 14 mm shorter, and despite the extra girth in the head still fits comfortably in the pocket. I just ordered the Astrolux MF02 which judging by the video throws longer and brighter than either...not a pocket thrower but I needed something under 100 bucks that would chase folks off my property...The P30 and EC4GT do a pretty good job of that but I need a super-annoying beam that will scare them off and keep them off.

Yeah they are getting to be somewhat outdated and when compared to the competition they are absurdly overpriced. Some still aren't able to be beat as far as throw tho. The megaray MR250 125 watt HID long distance spotlight is one of those. I believe these series of lights throw between 2500 and 5500 meters typically and some of there higher end lights can throw close to 5 miles! The price is extremely high just like there specs. Buying a light that starts at 2500 U.S. dollars and I believe can cost up to 10000 makes them not one I am likely to ever purchase. LED lights are lighter, cheaper, and produce far less heat making them the obvious choice for 99.99% of people looking for a high end flashlight with the best features for a somewhat reasonable price. I have a bunch of LED lights and only a couple portable HID lights. I use my HID lights very little lately and haven't bothered replacing the battery in my cheap 55 watt large yellow spotlight. Its reflector is about 7" in diameter and without the battery it weights about the same as my Olight x7 marauder does with batteries. A full charge doesn't last over 45 minutes no matter what and it uses SLA batteries which are pathetic compared to 18650s. Its battery costs $15-20 new and needs replacing every year or two assuming I don't use it much. Probably at best I can get 80-100 charges out of a battery and at worse 30-40. The battery is never suppose to be discharged close to being dead and when its low I am suppose to recharge it immediately. That light throws I believe the same distance as my acebeam X60M. It was only $80 6-8 yrs ago including battery and charger. A few buddies have super expensive $2000+ Xenon lights that are amazingly nice for diving and users that don't care about the cost. I still believe polarion, surefire, and Phoebus brand HID lights have a better combination of throw and flood when compared to led lights with similar maximum outputs. I was wondering what the current king of throw lights under $175 and under $300 not including batteries. Also I am going to be looking for a nice green or blue burning laser pointer preferably under $50. The max I might consider for the laser would likely be $75 not including batteries. I would like a green super bright one priced between $35 and $50 and one better at burning stuff compared with any of my old cheap chinese unbranded ebay ones and I don't want to consider paying anything over $90. Preferably I would like both lasers combined price to come to $100 or less. All items would have to run off 18650s or 26650s. I prefer 18650s tho. I would like your opinion regarding what batteries you prefer most of all too. Thank you for your opinions and your personal views.

I'm not happy with this light. I have high quality batteries 3500 mAh but they are too FAT to fit inside flashlight. Thy fit inside the battery carrier but not the flashlight. I have other batteries but they don't have the high amps. I will never buy another light with a built in carrier again!
