When my daughter was born, there were difficulties in birth and we stayed in hospital for a week. I had recently received Chris's autobiography as a gift and decided that whilst I was cuddling her, I would read it to her. Now that she is 6, and we have found out she is autistic, we have also found that she loves watching his videos, just watching him floating around in space whilst doing things that we do on earth. Chris's videos aren't just inspiring to people, they are stimulating for some.

Columbia was tragic and truly heart breaking. In a slightly biased fashion I'd like to remind people of Kalpana Chawla, the first woman of Indian origin to go to space who also sadly perished with Columbia. She was one of my first role models growing up as an Indian kid seeing someone achieve something so amazing internationally. The Columbia disaster made me cry as a kid and I will never forget that day. Mighty respect to her and the entire crew of Columbia and I am so glad Cmd. Hadfield brought it up since it rarely gets mentioned anymore. We should always remember the sacrifices that have been given for humanity.

he was my idol, i never wanted to become an astronaut but chris is such an inspiring person but when i heard that he retired, i cried my eyeballs out, chris hadfield is still my idol and i admire him! Chris is probably someone who would be such an amazing person to talk to. I just am shocked on his retirement and it did make me sad , but its his decision, and if it makes him happy, i’ll be happy! Thanks if you read this far.
