G'day mate. Just watched one and two. Really felt for you setting up the camera and walking away up the path, only to return collect the camera to do the same again, to make it to the top of the mountain. Real dedication there Richard, well done mate. And great images too, proving with hard work comes results.

Hi Richard, As I said before I grew up near the Grampians, on the Western side, and as kids we would ride our bikes to the mount and spend the day climbing around the rocks, those were the days ha ha. Any way, an other fantastic video, I didnt know the old mount could look so good looking at it from another perspective, Golten Gorge is an other place to check out when the water is running because there is a lot of interesting little water falls. I would be interested to know if you went to the Horsham Technical School in the 1960's? Robert Stawell
@nightscapeimages.richard4 жыл бұрын
Hey Robert, I was born and bred in Bendigo so I didn't go to school in Horsham. I did visit Golten Gorge but couldn't find time to shoot there this trip. Thanks for watching.

Love your passion Richard regardless of the conditions or terrain tho you are fitter than i am, this old body would struggle climbing up there. Although i could ask the wife along to take some of the load but I'm pretty sure i know what she will say.

Oi Richard. Greetings from Denmark with my Australien wife. Have to say it is awesome photos you take and produce. Love following your vlog, but we have to ask, how do you dare to walk out in the bush and also sleeping there all alone. We mean snakes, spiders and so on. Very brave and we are impressed. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for watching Rasmum. It is winter here in Australia and all the creepy crawlys are hibernating. I'm sure there may be snakes around these spots in the summer but I'm not shooting nightscapes in Summer. Appreciate the comments.

The stars to be very dark in the exposure environment is ideal. However, in a view of the city lights seen from the distance where the star is it possible to make exposures?
@nightscapeimages.richard6 жыл бұрын
It is very difficult to get good images of stars when in or near a large city. The sky becomes totally washed out. My advice is to travel as far away from the city as possible to shoot the stars.

Greetings from brazil, your videos / photos are just fantastic. I have a nikon D5500 and Im thinking of buying a sigma 18-35mm f1.8 for milkway photography an landscape. Is it a good option for an all purpose lens in a DX camera?

Loving the videos - well done! Only thing is when there is any movement in the video all the vertical lines go wobbly until the movement stops and then all is fine again. 🤔 Is this in the actual video or have I got a bad setting or something?
@nightscapeimages.richard6 жыл бұрын
Hi Willnot there are a couple of reasons for that. Sometimes when the video frame rate is too high you get strobing on fast movement. Also the youtube compression exaggerates that even more. There isn't anything wrong with your settings cause I can see it also. I'll do my best to alleviate it moving forward. Thanks for watching.
