Astrophotography: You're doing it wrong - a Retrospective

Every hobby has its tricky bits, but in Astrophotography you can spend much money and still head into a wrong direction. With this video-essay directed to my former self and other people investing themselves their time and money into this hobby, I want to inform about some issues and problems I encountered so far on my journey, looking back from this standpoint and provide some helpful tips all around astrophotography, telescopes and gear.

A 15 degree per hour drift thanks Bob!!! I laughed out loud when you said that, I guess there's another consideration to note when starting astrophotography & that is budget, you can easily get overwhelmed by what to buy. I used to be in an astronomy beginners group & my advice would be HEQ5 mount, Skywatcher ED80 evostar & a modified DSLR to get started if they were serious starting out in this hobby. I think that's still pretty much the same advice that's been given on stargazers lounge & has been for quite some time. You can always evolve to bigger & better things later down the line.
