I knew the guy that wrote the music for Duvet, the lyrics were written by the singer. A lot of people think it was by a Kpop artist called Boa, but it was actually a small band from London by the same name - if you search youtube you can find the original music video. Paul sadly passed a couple of years ago, but I know he'd have loved this - he was always very proud of this song and the knowledge that people still liked it enough to keep reworking it would have really made him happy.

It was the early 2000's when I first discovered Lain. Though I didn't get Techtv, through cable, with a booster I was able to pick it up through the old antenna on the roof as it broadcasted out of Albany. Though it was staticky, I was able to watch it, Boogiepop Phantom, Silent Mobius, Call for Help, Cinematech, and X-Play. Along with other channels. Lain though, sat with me the most. There was just something about it that resonated with my young mind, and I fondly remembered sitting late nights in my basement watching this in the warm glow of my CRT. Years later, I told this to an anime fan much younger then me, and he responded "you're so lucky, you got to live the aesthetic". I guess in some way I did, but before that, I never thought of that. Sorry for the wall of text, great work Astrophysics.

everything about Serial Experiments: Lain felt familiar, despite never having seen it. I remember seeing art around the internet when I was was a teenager and I remember hearing this song when I hung out with my uncle as a kid, but I could never put any of this together. now that I've sat through the series here on YT, it still feels vaguely familiar, yet it's so new to me and it feels really special to me now. and especially with how we all are now, constantly within arm's reach of any technology that could distance us or bring us closer together; and with the pandemic going on, I still feel disconnected from reality whenever I go out for groceries, but I guess there's solace knowing we're all experiencing technology together, whether we want to or not.

"touchable", "real" and "relevant", relationships, people and work. Nowadays everything goes so fast... so much of everything, people don't have time for contemplation... Clouds, cryptos, social networks... these thoughts reminds me to that Matrix quote from agent smith "The Matrix was re-designed to be like the peak of *your* civilization, because as soon machines started to think, it became *our* civilization". "Get There" is also a good album, but a little more aggressive and lacks some of the charm of Twilight. Oh, and in case you don't know, Twilight is essentially a rerelease of their first album "Race of a Thousand Camels" but with a few more songs and the songs are in a completely different order. This makes me feel old.
