The Twins weren't able to take advantage of opportunities against the Great Verlander or that 1st game would have ended a lot differently. Astros were spanked in game 2. Game three started with an error from an injured 1st baseman and a mistake from one of the best in MLB to give up a homer, though give the experienced hitters of Houston credit for coming out with a plan to defeat the sweeper. Game 4 was a one-run squeaker that could have gone either way and I'm very interested to see how the Umpire graded behind the plate, because even the announcers were calling him out for lousy zones. The Astros could very easily be going home in defeat tonight. Don't expect to be able to get lucky like that against the Rangers. Better clean it up if you want to advance to the Big Dance.

Yes, the ump behind the plate blew calls both ways. At least they weren't one-sided--he made bad calls against both teams. But it was hardly luck. Great pitching and timely hitting. That's not luck. Better teams win the one-run games.

Rangers have all five all star hitters healthy and you need more than 3 to win, and you won’t get more than 3 with Eovoldi, Scherzer and Montgomery on the mound who are proven commodities in playoff series like this, and Bochy is 15-5 in playoff series for his career, he’s not losing.

One thing Maldy has over Diaz is calling games. Correa even gave him credit for it. Look at what Harper did last year and now this year but when they got to WS he was batting .200 with only 1 homer.
