Never underestimate the impact a tragedy has on that city's sports team. To reference: 1989 Bay Area Earthquake - 49ers win Super Bowl. 9/11 - Yankees make World Series. Katrina - Saints go from 3-13 to 12-4 and NFC Championship Game. Boston Marathon bombing - Red Sox win World Series. And now Hurricane Harvey - Astros win World Series.

I am a Astros fan! We won our World Series and I was crying very hard after losing to the White Sox back in 2005. Finally, even though people are going to say that we cheated. But we didn’t. And I love my Houston Astros for winning after going through Hurricane Harvey. This was one of the best moments of my life! Finally, after 13 years of failing to get the World Series, we have finally won a World Series!! #HoustonStrong#

I screamed so hard I lost my voice for awhile! I even cried after the game. It's one of the best moments I've ever seen and experienced. I had work the next the morning and after that, I slept all day! It was worth losing all that sleep watching the Astros in the Postseason. It was nothing but ups and downs. It was a tough path!

I live in a small town south of Houston. The night they won I was cheering very loudly in my apartment complex and got the cops called on me. When the police came they asked me what was going on. I had told them I was celebrating the Astros winning. They laughed and said to have a good night

25 years, I waited 25 years for them To finally win it all. After all the years of losing, and blowing it in the post season or just flat out what seemed to be bad luck, the wait it is over and it was worth it. I remember so many heart breaking seasons growing up. And for this to happen weeks after hurricane Harvey, it was perfect. I’m glad it was the dodgers we beat, nobody can’t say we didn’t face the national leagues best, I Wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I didnt get flooded personally but I remember my father and I taking out our boat to try and go rescue some people. At one point we were in 7 feet of water. Cars were completely under and the water was almost up to the roof of some houses. Our city was devastated, but this absolutely helped!

Don't be deceived by my photo. I grew up in Houston. Was there for Hurricane Carla in 1961. I now live in LA and have been a season seat holder to the LA Kings 1982. When they won their Stanley Cup in 2012 that was a BIG deal for me. However, the Colt 45's were my first sports love. Two months before the playoffs started, I pulled out my Colt 45 t-shirt I wore as a 7yo to games at Colt Stadium. I saw them the first year they were in existence. This may be just as big for me in terms of a championship. I have the t-shirt pic on my phone. My dad grew up a Cub fan. When he moved to Houston, he became an Astros fan. He never saw the Cubs or the Stros win it all. I am blessed to have seen this. When I think about Harvey and it's aftermath, I can make me teary eyed now.
