This system based on lalkitab may be. As sun is exalted in Aries. So Sun represent East side. Also Saturn is exalted in Libra, i.e. 7th house so 7th house represent West. This will be based only on natural zodiac sign.

Wrong analysis, If Sun is having malefic effects of Rahu and Shani West will be blocked in your house. If Shani is giving negative result in kundli West direction will be blocked or cut.
