I've talked about wanting to get into Unreal for years (as a kid I dreamed of making my own games and managed to think of some of the best simple concepts I think hold up even to this day), never stepped up to it until now, and I refuse to quit out without making at least a bad piece of work that I could learn from. Seems like a big thing to fully grasp but with how readily available tips and tricks are I know anything can be done nowadays, thank you for the video!!!

A tip to anyone trying to put the box on the floor by pressing N. It is actually the end key above the arrows. Took me a little bit to realize.

It's a great element to the tutorial. Most have it scripted and done perfectly, with errors edited out. This gave examples of common mistakes and how to make better choices. :)

Huh, I've been using Unreal for about 6 months but didn't know that the geometry shapes scaled materials automatically like that. There's always more to learn lol.

Guess Im doing things backwards, with learning blueprints first before the engine xD
@pieci37843 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it was backwards. Full Sail teaches you blueprints and scripting before level design in their game design program. It leads to a strong understanding of the inner workings of the engine before you even begin to think about creating levels.

Is there a way to edit the collision response for the boxes like with the normal cubes? I can't find the option anywhere. EDIT: nvm figured out I needed to convert it into static mesh from brush settings and then create a collision mesh in the editor.

Just grabbed this software, and found you. Trying to use this for film making. Is it the same as doing a game, or is it different?
@AstrumSensei4 жыл бұрын
The environment design and interface is the same but I don't think you'll need to work with blueprints!
