Is this the university's wind ensemble? Why are there two differing uniforms for the players?

No it’s not. This is high school’s band. Players who wear a black suit are alumni of this high school. This is kind of collaboration stage by high-school-students and alumni. I am one of them actually ☺️

(GRADE 6)'is it true this band didn't qualify for all japan concert competition? I know their jazz band (thr large band is exceptional and constantly eqarns gold medals at national competitions for this genre. How is it possible that the concert band doesn't even qualify?

@ thanks for being interested in the band I graduated. Actually they qualified for all Japan competition in 2024. It was for the first time in 11 years. They also will qualify jazz competition in this February.

@@Tack-p1d Thanks for the update. I can imagine that thisd fine band would finally qualify for high medal. I think it is unusual for a school band like this to be successful in both jazz and concert band genres. Credit to their instructor, staff and the students. You were fortunate to be a part of this great school band. Congrats to you also.
