Small detail about the fight at 11:20 that was mentioned in the book: Salvos was moving away from the group by the time they attacked the red larva, and she ran back to save him because of that. Also I remember in the book's comments, the author mentioned that Salvos cares a lot about having a sense of identity and that identity being known by others, was based on some kind of ancient greek philosophy I don't remember the name of.

Personally, I liked the idea of the story just following Salvos as a newly-cognizant creature that needed to learn literally anything at all in order to do stuff, and gradually becoming more powerful and knowledgeable as she went around killing stuff and gaining levels. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the legions of "isekaid into a fictional world the MC has tones of experience and foreknowledge of" or "isekaid into another world with sudden convenient OP powers or companions".

I would change the story to have Salvos save Daniel from a monster and that is why he is trying to help her. The two fought, then got separated. Then some monster attacked, Daniel found himself defenseless. Salvos stepped in and protected Daniel. He asked why she would do such a thing. And she said because he seemed different from other humans as he helped some small animal, let us say a rabbit, and Salvos had watched and felt Daniel was different and did want anything bad to happen to him. She didn't felt about him like her companion, but she felt she could at least help him get away. Plus the monster she just defeated was beneficial in gaining more experience. She did told him that he did sought to attack her then she would do the same to him. Daniel then kneeled and said he was wrong about her and he will help her as she at least was honest in being a good demon, which were rare but not unheard of. He also remarked about how beautiful she was, which made her feel something different. She could not identify what it was and felt it was some tactic to confuse her and deceive her. So she hit, but not in anyway that would kill him. When he got back to his senses, he wonder why she did not kill him in which she reiterated herself as a good demon, which he apologize for forgetting and for earlier in making her uncomfortable. She said it was fine, but never to do something like that again. He commented that he was honest at the very least, which left her flustered but not willing to strike at him this time.

Larva. Literally just a formless blob of flesh that hasn't defined itself yet. Which is why I think the evolution is such a massive upgrade in form. By the point they can evolve they have had time to define themselves both in attributes and in purpose. So the Id they develop with those level up has a big influence on their form. I wonder if a larva that didn't really stand out in either category and evolved WOULD be just a bigger pile of flesh?
