Look like the CLAW is 16gb ram. Like really companies WHY are they afraid of 32gb? Like that gives more the iGPU to run possible better..give games/os some breathing room etc etc. 16gb is not moving forward thinking in my opinion. BUT will see how Intel runs SC so time will tell. Really looking for something on the go for SC play (no gaming laptop been there done that UGGGH) but I still have my main home gaming PC..just need something portable for SC.

Bro ur video made me trying it and playing since then on my ally. Even got all the iae academy rewards and been to pyro already stacked up some good stuff that hopefully carries over when 4.0 goes live. I was really surprised how decent the game can actually run on the ally with the right settings.. even made some ship combat and bunker missions sometimes quite stuttery but still playable.

Great video. I know I commented with this on the previous video, but I need to remind players to change their virtual memory to 2x their ram or 32GB to keep the page faults down to a minimum. This will prevent a lot of crashes to desktop. Depends on your SSD size of course, but you may benefit greatly by having that extra buffer going in the background.

Damn, this is probably gonna run with no problems on the Ally X, with 24GB of ram and faster ram as well, coupled with the optimizations CIG has been implementing, and to top it off CIG has had meetings with the big 3 chip/GPU makers to start implementing more advanced features into SC like the recent update that brought DLSS, by the time we get to 4.0 Beefy PC will be optional.

Disabling microsoft edge seemed to help as its some bloatware that hogs memory. Im surprised at how well i got it to run. I can do combat pilot missions with aurora mr. Remember to push F4 over a planet it seems forces terrain generation to trigger. Keep terrain tessolation on high. I have quality on very high. Theres is so much bloatware to disable in task manager that takes up ram.

Good advice! I forgot to add that part to the video but on all my computers I go to startup and disable everything except for the essentials or in this case Armory Crate and AMD software. Not sure that I “disabled” edge though but I did make sure it was completely shut down and yeah it runs pretty darn good tbh! I can’t wait for the next gen of handhelds I seen that new Ryzen AI chip boasting the 12 teraflops of gpu power got ya boy excited! Thanks for watching and participating in the comments man!

Damn Bro - Ally X is just released - I believe 23h2 Widows update, latest AMD drivers, bit faster memory and 8GB extra (RAM/or assigned to VRAM) we should have more constant 30fps - and frame generation ontop of this.

if you run windows 10 ltsc on the rog ally (any of them) you will get a 30-40% increase in fps in games. this has been proven by many blogs that did benchmarking, windows 11 is super slow for gaming and never should have shipped on the rog. LTSC is even faster since it has no bloatware out of the box.

I can’t get this to play at all on my ROG. had a similar issue with x4 so figured I’d try this. It crashes every time I try to start it. Changing video and vram allocations didn’t seem to fix it. 😢

Can you please give me some tips. I just bought an ally z1 extreme the other day for Star Citizen but my frame rates are like 6-10 when in new babbage. :( running at 720p on a monitor (1440)native, all graphic settings off or low, upscalling 50% Performance, RAM to GPU 3GB, page file 32GB to 48GB. Best thing to do is make sure everything else is shut down in the background. No other apps running. Even then though it can come to a crawl in certain places.

Seems I got it running with your instructions but I'm having trouble with the controls! I got very excited when I got up from the bed in the space station I was last at. Seem to be getting about 21-25fps running around everus harbor, 720p, High with FRS off was the most stable. This is in patch 3.23 currently. Looks like I just need to figure out how to map something to my liking and understanding and I may be able to play! That's epic

@@mandaloresmercy wipe the ssd on it and reinstall windows 10 ltsc, it has a 30-40% fps improvement in gaming over windows 11, this has been proven on the rog ally and done by several other bloggers. there are guides online for getting the drivers and such, i did it myself and it was super super worth while. asus has drivers for windows 10 on their website too. you will see huge improvements in start citizen.

Interesting I purchased Star Citizen many years ago but never really played it due to old CPU’s struggling with it, anyway I installed last night while I slept. Not fired it up yet but I didn’t have an issues with launcher it let me install it all straight away so maybe they patched that. Any up to date tips on graphics for the Ally?

@@CarelessKingdom Yeah I got an easy anti-cheat issue to sort out though, how did you get around that? Will downloading epic store sort that out? Not had much time to play around but I tried the easy anti-cheat launcher exe within star citizen files but it wouldn’t open doing it that way. Went to Easy-Anti cheat website as well but couldn’t see a download link so that’s basically where I’m at launching game it saying I need that installed. Ok fixed it now may help others here download epic - verify files in SC it will work then. Just got to work out controls now mouse on game pad a bit funky lol

How you wrote this is confusing but in going to try to reply. Star Citizen is playable on the Asus Ally following this guide, and Starfield should play no problem I played a solid 25 hours or starfield on my Ally. Also! No nothing should be messed up by following this guide but you might want to change the GPU memory for other games. I keep it on “Auto” unless im playing Starcitizen. Thanks for watching!

I have an Ally and downloaded SC, and it seems like it SHOULD be able to handle it (CPU and GPU were only at about 75% and 85% respectively), but the current 3.23.1a patch is abysmal frame rates so don’t expect to run it very well this patch. Must be due to all the entities it has to load in. I was getting 15fps average and that’s not going to heavy graphical load areas like trains. Seems like this patch really spurred a lot of performance issues. Hopefully 3.23.2 comes out quick.

I will say, I wish I had the money to drop on an Ally X- I didn’t realize the system ram and the VRAM share the same 16GB. 24 should be perfect as “min spec”. The current generation of handhelds are not quite at their minimum and have some pretty bad 1% lows sometimes in SC.

so idk how your running this on an asus rog ally i have one i tried star citizen and followed this video to a tee and i keep getting a graphical error where the screen gets all pixelated and then flashes to where i cant play i even tried unplugging it from the tv and i had the same problem on the physical console.... if theres something im doing wrong id like to know

I haven’t done it since this video - it could be a million different things. Possibly the latest GPU driver doesn’t play well, maybe the file is corrupted, the list goes on. Sorry it’s not working for you though!

I had this happen once and I had to reinstall the game. Make sure you’re running 720p or 900p though because if you’re in 1080p it will crash every time.
