After watching this video as well as your all GTX 1070 compared videos I decided to go with this card. I just got it today and it looks incredible, thank you for your help and advise. Appreciate it.

TechRat Mine does not have the coil whine. But again I play with my headphones on and my PC is 3-4 feet away from me when I am playing. I have yet to hear any noise though even with whole system having 10 fans. I have the non OC version which overclocks just as well as the OC version Don't waste your money on OC version. Mine overclocks to 2100 Mhz which is great.

Btw. Is it the same card if we take for example the Asus strix 1070 OC and Asus strix 1070 "normal". I mean yeah the 1070 oc has higher clock speeds, but if you would overclock the "normal" as well. You should get to the same numbers? So there is no actual physical difference in quality or something?

The OC cards are guaranteed to reach those speeds, the non-OC cards are not... I imagine some binning was done as well to make sure of that, so the OC cards may well go even higher... Since I don't have a non-OC card, I can't comment much more than that...

Tech Deals I would think that from a marketing and selling perspective that would make sense. To have some binning difference or something that effects the performance. Because if someone would find out that you get the same performance with less money. No one would buy the OC versions. Especially when overclocking has been done so easy. Even just an one click. Not the best OC you can get of that card, but for casual builders its enough. Thanks on your opinion/comment anyway.

Hello! I actually asked them: "So you are saying that there is no physical difference between the three strix 1080 you have? And will the warranty worn off if you overclock the card?" They answered: "Yes, and as long as you do not modify the card or remove the thermal solution your warranty will stay intact." But I would assume when you use their software's automatic settings and overclocking it doesn't effect the warranty, but when you start use advanced settings it would.

I saw you posted this earlier today and was waiting all day til I got off work to watch it. I own one of these (found 1 at Micro Center for $439 about 3 weeks ago) and I love it. I think it's not only one of the best 1070s available, if not the best, but one of the best cards period. Why? Because most gamers are using 1440p, not 4k; and this card monsters through 1440p like a soldier. I couldn't be happier with it. For example, I can play Fallout 4 on all ultra settings @ 165 MHz and I'm in the 80-90 fps range 90% of the time. Very rarely it dips to 75 fps and very often I'm in the high 90 fps to low 100 fps range, especially inside buildings and stuff. Out of the box I've hit over 2100 MHz GPU clock and 4400-4500 mem. clock. For all those out there interested in this card, I highly recommend it and believe it is a more valuable deal dollar for dollar than the 1080. PS +Tech Deals - I do have a question: Is there any reason or reasonable applications to SLI 1070s?

Most gamers? Where are you getting that data? The stats show that MOST gamers spend roughly 250 dollars on a video card and are on 1080p. Please back up statements that quantify the most part. But congrats on the card, you are not MOST gamers. *winks

bought one of these yesterday, for the record it fits an Acer Predator G3-710 case with minimal wire re-routing, replaced the GTX 970 I had. This 1070 is an awesome card for the price :)

the fan ports are also very good for watercooling the gpu. controlling the radiator fans with the gpu allows better cooling when the gpu is under load, while the cpu is not used much, e.g. In shooters.

Good video, i like how in depth your videos are. Contains all the info one would ever need. I picked up this card(OC even) from Microcenter.(OC even) It was $420 but I found an open box for $350. When I checked out I got a receipt for a mail in rebate of $20. So only $ 320 after all is said and done. I'm pretty psyched so far.

Tech Deals, i have a question, i just got the ASUS GTX 1080 but there were no stickets at each flap of the nice looking box? also the outer brownbox the ASUS sticker was cut open, but the plastic bag where the videocard rest had a seal, but below the seal it looks like there was an previous seal on it. so i probably got an secondhand GTX 1080? i know it's not the same as 1070 but i assume that the unboxing experience should be the same. it's really confusing in this graphiccard world whether the videocard is brand new or secondhand. do you have some experience with it? the company where i bought it said he received it like that, i contacted ASUS and i am curious what they will say to me.

For safety, I'd budget 200 watts per 1070, which is overkill, but overkill never hurts... 400 watts for the cards, 200 watts for the rest, 600 should be plenty, I'd personally use a nice 650 watt power supply.
