It's a very nice card, using OC mode and have had the computer on for a couple of days and the temps show 64 C, so the massive cooling unit is very good on this card. Most games i tested so far have had an fps increase with atleast 10-15 fps. From my Strix 1080. And the biggest change you see if you use 2K, this is a very good card for 2K resolution users.

Havent had any problem with sound issues on my card, and havent had any coil whine either. It's a pretty quite card and i have used many cards in my days. But lately i have started to stick with the Asus series since i think they make excellent coolers.

Question. How much consume wats? I'm slowly buying all high stuffs that'll last 12 years, thinking to buy overtime but everytime i collect some money the better product arrives. I have shit PC and not long ago bought CM Cosmos 2 and Be Quiet 1200W. Yep, you know why 1200W. For 2-Way SLI. Building my own PC with I7 7700k/Ryzen 1800x, 960 Pro 512 GB and 850 GB SSD's. Heard that overtime the better cards consume more power than older cards. Had 9800 Ti, was quiet 8 years ago until i got 550 Ti whic is louder on playing high consume games.

Got mine 4 days ago. I have managed to get it running at 2000Mhz, 110 power target and 68C. Still it can go up to 120 power target. This baby is a beast.

Great review. That cards a beaut! The fan headers on the cars will be very helpful if you ever water cooled it as you could plug the rad fans in to it. Great job as always pal.

Interesting that you had some problems with 1080p, I did as well and put it down to bottle necking with my older CPU.

+DaveChaos I tried both Ryzen and a 7700k with it. Very tough to get proper 1080p and even 1440p results. I must have done 100+ tests on this card..

Hello. Do you use Anti Aliasing when testing on Heaven Benchmarking? what setting you used ?I'm using 1080 Ti Strix OC too.. I just want to compare it to other users.. My Heaven Benchmark 1080p, Ultra Quality, Extreme Tesselation, No AA. I saw other reviewers got 241.. it almost 15% more.. that is a lot.. I wonder if possible that people get a bad performance card?

I've just ordered this card, should get it this Tuesday. I was going to wait till the November black friday sales for it or see what the next best card will be at that time. I need this now though, as a few days ago I'd just bought the ASUS PG348Q monitor with 3440x1440 100Hz, playing Star Citizen alpha, and with my old 1080p 60Hz TV now as my 2nd screen its all pretty graphically demanding stuff. How exactly does the 1080ti not work good at 1400p. I know you said you don't know why but do you at least know what happened?

+Wyatt Potter the numbers it was giving out just weren't anything close to what it should have been doing, 1080p was bugged as hell. Gta v actually gave basically the same fps at 1080p, 1440p and 4k.

your seeing a CPU bottleneck with the lower resolutions. the GPU is pumping out so many frames that the CPU cant keep up or something along those lines, but hey who wants this for a 1080p or 1440p card anyway unless 1440p at high refresh rates.

I got lower FPS on both the 7700K and the 1800X with the 1080ti than I did the 1080s I've benchmarked before. I also got considerably lower results than almost any other reviewer on similar games and settings. I'm fairly certain it wasn't a CPU bottleneck.

it was probably bottlenecking at 1080/1440p that's why it was almost the same FPS that's my guess.

The problem is I had higher FPS numbers with a GTX 1080 STRIX using the same chips. That can't be a bottleneck.

well then I have no idea, my only other guess would be it works too fast for 1080/1440p but that's unlikely. did the 1080 have higher FPS on all tests for 1080/1440?

I can't remember off the top of my head, but it was higher on Dirt Rally and GTA V, I think DOOM especially in vulkan was a bit better for clean results.

hmm that's really weird. I'm hoping its just a driver issue that NVidia will fix later on. I have one question for you, if I want to game at 1440p 144hz would you recommend a 1080 or TI I will be playing games like R6 Siege, rocket league, the division, battle grounds etc... i would like to get your info on that since you do the testing yourself.

I'd say the TI would be better, if nothing else for long term. I have a 1080 in my personal rig and play at 1080p 144Hz for the moment, and generally get 120-150FPS AVG on the highest settings, so if you are doing 1440p 144Hz then the TI should be about the same sort of FPS.

VR isn't fitting for every type of game though, and the currently high prices will, for some time, slow its development. Once the more budget friendly VR headsets are released they will surely become more commonplace. Also, 1080 ti costs a fucking lot so there's that too

I don't think people who spend 800 on a card care about the price of the Vive or Oculus. You make it sound like I said it can only do VR. When you are done with VR, you can go fuck around on your monitor if you want, but this card is over kill for it.

+HybridEnergy You peasants are forgetting the existence of high refresh rate monitors. 60hz these days is nothing. The 1080 ti is ideal for 1440p 144hz monitors but for 4k 100hz or ultrawide 3440x1440 it still isn't enough. And we have a few more years until cards can run that kind of thing.
