For the screws I use apiece of cardboard and push them in on the same pattern. Auto mech trick....thanks for the videos!

I'm about to upgrade to an SSD in my Asus, but luckily mine has an access panel for both the ram and the hard drive, so I don't have to mess with the keyboard removal.

Fortunately most of the newer Asus laptops you don't have to Tinker with removing the keyboard, you just pry the back panel off and you are good to go

Where did you get the SSD for that specific laptop? I have that same one and am out of memory on my hard drive. I want to make sure i get the right one!

Any 2.5-inch laptop-style SSD should work. They come in 7mm and 15mm depths, and I believe that either will fit, although most SSDs are 7mm anyway. Stick with name brands like Western Digital, Crucial, Sandisk, etc. Pro tip: Order them directly from the manufacturer. There are a lot of shady forgeries out there, and the only way to guarantee that you don't end up with one that has been filtered through several layers of suppliers is to order straight from the source. The good news is that typically the price will be exactly the same or better than Amazon or Newegg.

Well. Being 2016, it's either going to support m.2 sata ssd, or m.2 gen 3 ssd. Hard to know for sure without seeing the slot.

hi you can just buy a CADDY for pc ,it s only 10 $ and put an ssd or hhd in it , plug it in instead of dvd,it it works fine .

Hello. I believe your model has an m.2 slot. You can install an m.2 ssd. Not a 2.5 inch drive.

Hi, your title "Asus Laptop Hard Drive upgrade to SSD, Model F555L. Start to Finish" should be edited to elucidate the fact that you skip over the cloning process. BUT I found removing the top was very interesting. I had no idea that this could be done. I say this because I've seen videos on resoldering or replacing the charging dock- and basically, they remove just about everything from the bottom to perform the operation. Would it be possible to do it from the top? Thanx

Thanks for watching. Many models open by removing bottom tray. This model opens by removing top, or palm rest to access mainboard. To replace charging port varies from model to model. If soldering is required. Then you need to remove mainboard completely. Sry about not showing the cloning. This video was intended to mainly show how to replace hard drive. Yo he abierto laptops Lenovo, Dell, Samsung, HP y ¡todos! tienen los componentes al descubierto una vez he retirado la tapa trasera...en ninguno he necesitado levantar el teclado...además que en algunas ASUS ¡hay que extraer la placa madre para agregar un módulo de RAM!....mal....
