It's not the specs that is disappointing nowadays when it come to mobile gaming phones. It is mobile gaming games that are disappointing instead. There is nothing to play other than games like mobile legend and genshin impact etc. Also touchscreen control can never match button controller. Try pulling off a ten hit combo and fireball move with touchscreen control.

Emulation is king on these! My ROG2 can easily handle PS2 & Wii as well as anything else earlier. If you have good network/internet connection cloud services such as steam remote, Xbox GP, etc... all also run beautifully!

If you can't find mobile games good for you, why not playing console games on your phone? PS2 games can be emulated almost perfectly now on phone, and Switch emulator is being developed for android at this time.

You all need to read carefully before coming in. In my original post I said mobile gaming is not good enough for the phones themselves. I'm talking about this particular aspect of games. I'm not focusing on the emulation gaming. I'm aware that a mid to high end phone nowadays are able to handle emulation gaming very well.

I have been using the ROG 2 since it's launch and have loved it. I do all my mobile gaming with emulators or cloud gaming and it still performs excellent! It's the longest I have ever been able to use a phone without issues as all my previous phones have all lasted barely 2 years. This one has surpassed 3 years of use. I have even used it in semi harsh environments. So I'm definitely considering getting this phone soon and retiring my ROG2. I hate to be fanboy but I've never had issues with anything bought from Asus!

My main gripe with Samsung and Apple phones is the lack of Bypass Charging. Only gaming and Sony phone have this feature. To think that they are among the biggest phone manufacturers. I've been using ROG 3 since it came out, and up until now, it works magnificently. I haven't had problems with gaming all these years, and I haven't even max out my 512 storage. Seeing that the ROG 6 has electrothermal cooler now, it has even exceeded my wildest expectations (the cooler that came with ROG 3 is a joke). You just plug in while gaming, use the aerocooler, and you can play for hours.

I must say, 144hz display is absolutely a must have, it's so nice, fast and smooth and really makes any other phone especially Apple phones look garbage. Something i'd love to see is Asus go away from the iphone app layout and more like a pc layout with a desktop screen and apps on the side, I feel like that would be really cool.

IPX4... My ROG 5S dropped into a puddle and died.. It was brand new and 30 days, it died to water induced damage. The repair fee is insane, enough to buy 2 ROG Phone 5S. I sincerely hope they give it an IPX 68 before I ever consider getting the phone again.

the camera setup changed. last year 64mp, 30mp, now 50mp, 12mp. last year 7-channel audio , now change to 5-channel. dont know why they change like that. its not huge problem, is that a drawback? and price increased.

This phone is awesome!!! Many people say that the price is not fair compared to the iPhone 13 Pro. It is because iPhone 13 Pro doesn't have all these features (air triggers, external cooler, in-game genie, motion controls, 165Hz diplay, back RGB and back mini diplay, 2 USB-C ports, 3.5 mm HEADPHONE JACK!, controller, Many themes that you can download, and so on...)! If people are unable to afford the newest gaming phone or cannot keep up with the product launch the next best thing they can do is to buy a cooler. It help to keep game performance more stable as well as preventing the phone from getting fried due to overheating thus prolonging the life of your phone. Work with all phone models as long as the gadget can attach properly to your phone.

Anyone can tell me if the Rog Phone 6 has a feature like the Black Shark 5 Pro that while gaming you can switch from battery to use directly the charger? If the phone is put on charger of course. Because BS5 Pro does have this feature so while you are gaming it won't use the battery and charge it at the same time. You can just use the phone through the charger. So I'm curious. I have been using ROG2 since its launch, but I have my doubts about the durability of the phone. Jerryrigeverything did video on it, the phone snaps in half easily. Asus should get back on the old design with a single battery rather splitting it in two. ROG 5 & 6 both have poor durability because of that. Would have loved if ROG stuck with the old design.

Thanks for the factual and detailed review this is exactly what i was looking for.. hoping i can fine tune the battery saving to kill all uneccesary apps as well. It seems to do a good job with its built in apps so far. I really like phones that enable you to absolutely kill every background process with an app to maximize battery life. Like realme's super battery saver is really great at prolonging battery life. Hope this one is just as great. First time i buy an expensive phone.

My pre-order rog 6 pro has come, test it with ultra set on genshin without cooler it feel slightly warm than my old Rog 2. I feel some bug on trigger sensor, slight ghost touch on bottom screen, automatically restarted after playing for 2-3 hours.

From Armory Crate, ya can block the bottom part of the screen to prevent accidental touch and the phone restarting is probably because it overheated since ya were playing at Ultra without the Aero Cooler. Most phones won't even last that long with Ultra settings and will thermal throttle a lot
