Many have reported that pixel response is unforgivably awful and with unacceptable blurring/ghosting, leading users/owners to question the apparent non-genuine 1ms response claim. What on earth are ASUS doing that so many have complained about this issue?
@WePC3 жыл бұрын
one thing we all have to remember is the claims by every manufacturer of 1ms response time always comes with conditions, you have to have the right settings in place and 1ms isn't a constant it's variable so it won't be 1ms all the time. In my opinion 50% of the time it's a very liberal claim, especially from cheaper panels, but a manufacturer like Asus should be getting it right most of the time.
@cris_stn3 жыл бұрын
The ghosting should be because of the VA Panel. IPS would have been the better choice in terms of panel type.

I own it, and no thats not true. Its fine for the most part, i play lots of FPS games too. The game i suffered blur the most with was Sea of thieves, i ended up using my smaller secondary monitor to play that on. I played games like Hell let loose on the XG43UQ and holy shit, its a game changer. Sure maybe fast paced shooters might not be perfect on it, but i even had a go at playing Battlefield 4 on this beast and it's So fucking immersive and amazing, i didn't see any problems in dominating the game. I've also tried Metro exodus on this monitor all in 4k with all RTX settings on (im using a 3090 gigabyte vision card) And its also amazing. So i think if you really look at the vast majority of reviewers are using tests to check ghosting. All VA's have some ghosting but to call it a blurry mess is a bit over the top. I also would say wall mount it like i have so you are at least a few feet away from the monitor.

Turning HDR / Auto HDR on the xbox series x/s, the monitor will default to race mode in games that support HDR.. HDR when activated on this monitor makes it very limited.. So you won't be able to take advantage of changing the image such as sRGB mode, Scenery Mode, FPS mode, and so forth.. Same with changing brightness/contrast and color.. Things you need in competitive gaming, ELMB SYNC will not be available due to the hardware limitations of this monitor while HDR is enabled.. So if you want competitive gaming with this monitor, turn off HDR.. The response times feels much faster. Keep HDR on with single player games or campaign modes..

@Malinkadink3 жыл бұрын
Basically no reason to, monitor manufacturers cant compete with TVs that are made at enough scale to be offered at similar or even cheaper prices while offering similar features and superior pictures, LG really going in hard with their OLEDs hence i bought a 48CX last year and will get their 42" offering late this year or next when its out. Unless you're a super competitive player that needs 240hz+ or just cant accommodate a 40+ size theres zero reason to go with an LCD for entertainment. Pretty sure we'll actually even see 27-32" OLED monitor offerings next year as well, but most likely will be expensive vs the TVs still.
@Malinkadink3 жыл бұрын
@tinker Bell LCDs cannot compete with OLED response time period. Input lag is also not bad on the LGs with 6ms at 120hz operation. Monitors can do 2-3ms if they are 240-360hz, not a massive difference but for serious competition the extra frames help anyways. Features wise not sure what you mean my 48CX does more than any gaming monitor I've ever had.

@@andyblakely7576 Rumors point at 1k price for it, i paid $1500 for my 48CX I'd still even pay that for a 42" version but hey if its $1k great. Main things im hoping for is new processor as the UI even on the CX feels a little slow and apps could load faster, and the other thing is they HAVE to fix the flickering in VRR, they are aware of it and said its ultimately a hardware problem on current sets so they can only fully resolve it with a whole new set.

On poor monitors its really easy to see things like ghosting and pixel over shoot with CS:GO. And it's a really well optimised game so if a monitor is advertised with 240hz or 360hz it's an easy game to get those refresh rates on and see if the monitor can actually do what the manufacturer says it does.
