I had to watch this video to see how you open the display lid. I have an Asus V500CA that's so identical to Asus S500. The LVDS cable is damaged and I need to replace that. The bad thing is I can't get V500 parts. The good thing is they share parts with the S500. The only difference is in the motherboard, which still I can swap with the S500 one if need be. It's a laptop I bought in 2014 and it's great shape all thanks to that aluminium solid body. It's sad Asus no longer builds them that way. Plenty of plastics for up to $800 laptops. Anyways, rather than buy a new one, I'll upgrade mine. I'll fix the LVDS cable, change HDD to SDD, and bump up the RAM. I'm sure I can get like 4 more years out of it.

Hello excellent review, unfortunately I did 1 damage by kidding too much I ruined the connector of the white wire of the screen, do you think I can solder it directly on the board? or are they somewhere?

Were you able to buy the glass before opening it up and separating the glass from digitizer? I know you said they sent the wrong bezel - you mean you open it up, get the sn #, then they send you the correct glass?

Why didn't you use the heat gun to fit the screen into the new digitizer?

This video is misleading and wrongly demonstrates that when the computer is not turned off, disconnect the connection interface of the screen and the computer must hang up! ! People watched this video, remember to shut down and disconnect the battery first, this is the correct approach.
