at first im about to buy this smsung too. but many reviewed tht their screen bleed was very awful. so, if u played games tht has dark environment it will make your eyes unpleasants. screen bleed was common for ips panel but some monitors handled it well too. the brightness is also lesser thn the VG289Q. smsung UR55 also doesn’t support pivot and custom height monitor positioning. if none of the above doesn’t affect your gaming experience just go with it. but this asus won’t make u want to upgrade to any monitor, at least for the current gen console. 4K60 HDR is very comfortable for console experience.

im using User mode with HDR on. to change display mode on PS5: PS5> setting> Screen n Video> HDR (off). then, pick your desire mode with the monitor analog. after tht, turn the HDR on again on PS5.

of course. im still using this monitor and it still perform great. but with tht budget i think might want to spend a little more n can get a Dell Ultrasharp U2720Q for better HDR performance.

this Asus beat Samsung m7 on two factor: 1. pivot 2. brightness for tht Dell: 1. sorry if i mistaken but i think hdr on this dell only support for video playback, not on gaming. -hopes it helps.

yes, if i were u i definitely pick this asus. but if u got more money u can find a lot of 4K 120hz right now for longterm but its got to be expensive. but gaming on 4K60 isn’t bad either as not many games will support 120hz for now. also, if u only playing single player game u won’t really need 120hz

Could i ask 1 last thing? haha: Would you opt for a 4k60 ips 27inch like the asus/dell or a 4k60 32inch VA- like the M7 or benq ew3270u? the larger screen is more immersive but i'm worried about the mixed reviews for M7 and the poor viewing angles for VA as i tend to slouch sometimes

@@Hippocampic for the size i think its depends on your distance between u and the monitor. keep in mind tht the bigger the size of the display the lower the pixel per inch. So, the higher pixel per inch the sharper the image quality. 4K reso on 27 inch is about 163ppi, and 4K reso 32 is about 138ppi. The far u sit the more display size u want. but if u are the type of person tht sit close to the monitor, u might want a smaller display size.

this monitor is really good combination for the PS5. got sharp image quality and great colour accuracy. but if u only play sports game, i would recommend you to get a tv instead or a bigger size monitor.

yes, on 4K 60 Hz. this monitor does not support hz higher than 60, certainly not on 120hz. there is hdr but the least quality.

144hz is better than 60hz obviously. but, there’s so plenty game of my choice able to do that. i dont play competitive gaming so 4K60hz is enough for me. my eyes cant bear gaming on 1080p anymore. at this point, 1080p seems like 720p.

can’t say it better because i don’t have any experience using tht both dell n benq. but i don’t have any problem using this VG289Q. as user tht comes from 4K tv, this is very comfortable for the size. the color is really bright tht i has to turn down a bit. this gtg response time of 5ms and under is good for gaming. Getting the lowest possible response time will ensure image ghosting is minimized, leaving you with overall better clarity and quality.

if u using it on ps5, just go to setting n turn of HDR on console first. then, use the monitor analog to check the HDR again in the monitor setting. after enable it, enable the HDR again on console too. -hope it helps

Hi, i think its normal for an ips panel. If u cant bear it, go for an oled. It think its called Gradient, Sony is the brand u should consider if u want a smooth gradation. The image processor on Sony will do the job. I dont have this asus monitor with me anymore, i sold it. But this thing only happen to me when im watching videos on youtube.
