I'm looking to upgrade to this motherboard from my current ASROCK GA-AM1M-S2H. Im going to pull out my i7 and my video card (GeForce 750 Ti) and put it in this board and re-purpose the ASROCK mb along with the original Pentium G3258 CPU and an additional 1gig NIC card I have available into a pfSense system

FINALLY I've been waiting for AGES for a good gold board. I know someone had one for Z77 but it wasn't from the best brand. With the Asus backing I will finally be able to complete the gold colored build I've been wanting.

Its 2019 and I still have this motherboard. Its good. The only thing I don't like about it is the wireless mostly because my internet wireless setup at home is not great. I tried the blue tooth for a while and is good but I switch off cos I am paranoid. Sound is ok. Its the best motherboard I have had.

My 11+ year old Logitech elite duo wireless keyboard and mouse set work OUT of the box ( no updated drivers needed) plugged into my 970a-g46 motherboards onboard rear usb 3.0 ports ( both ports actually). No headaches, no problems. I don't see why Linus keeps mentioning this. It's not even a real problem worth even mentioning. Windows 8 usb 2 device being plugged into usb 3.0 ports ....PROBLEMS..are extremely rare. My 13 year old usb gateway keyboard worked out of box plugged into usb 3.0.

i always went with asus mb´s and looks newer meant that much to me . But that Msi Mpower looks sow dam good. with a 680 or 780 lightning. and the new z87 Mpower is real nice to :)

those who are complaining about the colour scheme are probably not getting a new motherboard anyways. regardless, i think it looks nice and unique. and i think it would be great for people who want to make some cool bronze/gold/yellow builds (expecting some bronze hard piped build). not to mention it would also go decently well with noctua fans :P

Using the z87-PRO myself. Got it because of the wifi, as that is unfortunatly a must these days. It has got the rather annoying habbit of booting up again after power down, and whilst many have this issue with their asus z87-series cards, asus has not seen fit to adress it. Back to ROG at first chance.

tokrika Have you updated the BIOS? I've had mine for almost two and a half years now and have had no such thing happen.. Id check the BIOS revision and check your power saving settings, and make sure EPU isn't switched on by accident.

Might just be me, but i personally found the old rather childish, baby blue, darker blue and white, i can say that since i own the p8z77 v deluxe, but this newer kinda sandy/golden is alot more sleek if your try to make your build fit ;)

totally worth it man i promise you that stable great features i Only buy ROG products sound card mobo gpu if they dont release a new gpu for a while. . i still stick with their old untill they update the prod line

Thanks, but I run a Maximus IV Extreme Z and while it is awesome it clashes with the blue colour scheme that I went with ( but I trust Asus so thats why I went with it). I liked their old blue save for the tacky pastel blue and white plastic that looked gross.

If you want a gaming pc, dont use a H series mobo. Also, if you want to know if the CM radiator will fit, check up on the case dimensions.

yesh you can, I use it with a 4770k and a EVGA 770GTX 4gb card. a small tip tho, when building a PC NOTHING should be urgent, take your time make the right research b4 you buy.

The 4670k is the best of the new i5's. The K means that all of its settings and clock timings are unlocked so that you can overclock it. If you dont have a k cpu then you cant overclock.

GTX 770 indeed, the 7670 is an "m" processor if i remember. Aka laptop versus full blown, overclocked gtx 680.

The gold colour theme by Asus is much less neutral than the previous blue one. You just can't ignore it, you either hate it or love it. Big risk there, Asus.

Why did you not mention that a UEFI is not compatible with MBR file-systems and will only work with them if you format them and reformat them in GPT which, although simple enough to do, is a huge pain in the ass if you have no Idea whats going on when windows refuses to install.

uh, yeah, these power features are neat but you must always turn stuff like that off in games. I have nothing but trouble with "cool'n quiet" and must turn it off. Most of the power features don't make games run well and can even corrupt them to where you must reinstall them. even if you aren't using software even if your using the mobo's powe rmanagement you get nothing but trouble, I have the Asus K8V deluxe, an older model but must turn all power management off for the bottom USB ports to work properly during reboots also it is always suggested to turn all those fancy features off during game play so what is the use?
