Check out Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5(Amd) which Launched recently without much hype but ohh boy it's a sick deal. U can get it for around 58-59k for Ryzen 7 4700U with 300nits display. But some sellers are selling it for higher prices beware of them.

The only really advantage of Slim 5 are front facing speakers

I still think why are laptops so high priced in India. Last year I got one from US, HP pavillion 15, i5 8th generation 8gb ram and 256gb ssd+1tb harddrive that to a touch screen 15.6 inch laptop with face unlock using windows hello just for ₹38k . It was a steal deal without any discounts for a metal build laptop.

I end up buying MSI GF63 Thin 9SC-460IN. Been using it for over 2 months, did not face any kind of issue. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS, so no problem here. RAM is 8gb but can be extended upto 64 GB (confirmed from official website). With increased SWAP file size it's running smoothly on 8GB as well. I use Vscode, Docker with multiple servers running simultaneously.

While gaming, it does get heated but on day to day development task I don't face any extreme heat issue (normal heating is acceptable). You'll experience heating when your RAM usages hit the bar. Regarding battery backup, on normal usages (casual browsing) I get around 3:30 - 4 hrs max.

2019 version though doesn’t have a thunderbolt port. It only has usb-c which doesn’t have a display out capability and other usb a ports which can’t be used to output display as well. You’re stuck with hdmi 1.4 which means you won’t be able to output 4k video at 60hz(max is only 30hz which is unusable for me). Can’t understand asus why can’t include usb c display out l/thunderbolt on expensive 2019 zenbook laptops. Regret buying it after I got an external 4k monitor.

Seen a lot of comments about US price. But also keep in mind that the price is 800USD excluding taxes. So u can get the Zenbook at 800USD in the US only if you live in area without income tax. But outside those areas you have to pay a whooping 135$ income tax
