Hey guys, thanks for checking out the video! If you are interested in the ZenFone 5 you'll find a link in the description, and if you are new to the channel please consider subscribing so you don't miss my future videos! 😀 Also, I've had a lot of people asking how to get numbers on the notification badges. You can chose either a blue dot or numbers, this is how to change it... Swipe up so you can see all of your apps. Then tap on the three dots in the top right hand corner. Then you want to tap on: Preferences > Home Screen > App Icon Badges. When you tap on App Icon Badges, you actually want to tap on the text not the toggle on the right. You should then see an option for notification dots, or the unread counter 👍🏻 Are you thinking about buying this handset, or do you have it already? Let me know in the comments below!

Life of Tech Fist off Great Video Sir Roger! Actually, I was thinking about buying the ASUS Zenfone 5Z. do you think you can give us a rundown on that device? also, could you give ASUS a poke about the "hiding the notch" and give us more options; such as curving it to match the chin and/or glass in glass or a see through effect on it, a little like the LG G7/G7+ has.

Bought one a week ago for 220€ in moonlight white. Realized that it was hard to find anything more recent that perfoms that well and has the same build quality. Asus seems to continue to keep rolling out updates for quite a while too. Can't say that about all brands...

Life of Tech I’m so happy that I saw this video on my feed and played it. You deserve more subscribers! I subscribed without thinking twice! ❤️ As for the phone, I’m feeling envious to be honest. Thinking of ditching my iPhone 6s for this one too!
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Haha...well thank you very much. I'm very pleased you watched it and subscribed 😁 I really did spend a lot of time working on the video, but I think the phone is great, and wanted to try and get that message across. I was using the iPhone X as my main device, but I did in fact switch to this as my main phone...and I have been so impressed. It's not as fast or as powerful as the iPhone X, but you can buy 3 ZenFone 5 handsets for the price of one iPhone X. It's fast enough for me and works very well. I am honestly really happy with it. I post updates on Twitter and Instagram about the phone as well, including camera samples. Not sure if you use either of them but if you do, just search for lifeoftechuk. Really do appreciate the kind words, Emerson. If you do decide to go for it, I think you'll be very happy 😃

Life of Tech I’ll definitely look you up and follow you on Instagram and Twitter! Definitely the phone may not be as powerful as any other flagship devices with premium prices but sure this phone isn’t a lousy one. I would say you’re getting the value of every penny you paid on this device. I might not totally ditch my iPhone cause I’m planning to use it as a secondary device. But seriously thinking about getting this one! And pleaseee make more phone reviews! I’m not exaggerating but this video is absolutely one of the best I’ve seen for the longest time I’ve been a tech follower here in KZbin. Your shots were nice, the explanation was clear, unbiased.. Overall great video content! Matter of fact I shared the video on my personal Facebook account so that my friends could see it too. All the best for you Roger! And thank you for your time replying to my comments. I honestly didn’t expect you to reply. But you did. Lol. 😅 Totally different from the tech channels that I’ve been following for years now. And you are now a great addition to my subscription list! Make more videos! Pleaseee.

Wow....that's so nice. Hahaha...thank you. It really means a lot when people take the time to leave nice comments like this. I really do appreciate it 😃 I'm balancing my day job and KZbin right now, but I have lots of plans for the channel, so you'll definitely be seeing more videos soon. Appreciate you sharing the video, that really helps. And I always try to reply to as many comments as possible. You took the time to comment...so I should take the time to reply haha. Thanks, Emerson. Glad to have you subscribed to the channel 🙏🏻

For those who are still interested of buying this phone (which is what i am also using right now) the disadvantages of this phone is that it has overheating issue even when you are not playing intensive games, it's so hot your hand will be very sweaty but still holdable, the notch hide also dont work properly when using messenger app of facebook, it's just broken, and the notifications are so close to the curve edge when the notification panel is pulled down. Now for the advantages it has gotten better after many updates since April, camera is amazing for midrange, the processor isnt really outdated in fact when you enable the boost it even beat the phones with Snapdragon 660 (check the Antutu Benchmark top 50 for the proof), the build is amazing despite it being covered of glass, it have Gorilla Glass 3 at the front and the back which means both are resistant to scratches but not with drops at high level, speaker is loud and the screen is as good as oled because it has super ips display and splendid app like in Zenfone 4 flagship. Notch can now be hidden along with the navigation bar. It has fast charging, supports up to 9V2A charger. Overall it is still great, hopefully they will not mess it up in Pie Update because the Oreo update in Zenfone 4 is a disaster. Edit: Updates are also slow on this device. These are my experience and im just sharing it, no offense to the uploader.

the heating problem is a little bit random too and can be easily fixed by rebooting the phone every 6 hours, and when the heating problem occured when gaming, even the battery still drains even tho it's charging~like 4-3% every 15 minutes (i play ml in medium high fps setting).

Thank you for the kind words, I really do appreciate it 😊 Haha...very true. A lot of reviewers were not impressed for some strange reason. Great video!! I have been using Lenovo Vibe P1m for more than two years now and sometimes it just does not work properly anymore, so I have been thinking about a new phone. My friend bought an iPhone 6s recently and she is satisfied with it and for a while, I have been thinking about it as well. But I have never used an iPhone before, plus I'm not sure if it is a good idea to buy it now. I've thought that it would probably be better idea to buy some new android phone for maybe less money than older version of iPhone. So, I have really been thinking abou this one :) would you say that it'd be a good idea to buy iPhone 6s or Asus zenfone 5 ? or my other option is Honor 9 Lite
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video, and thanks for the question! I was using the iPhone X as my main device...and I have now 100% switched to the ZenFone 5. The camera is good enough for me to take daily snaps and 4K video, and all of the other features such as the stereo speakers etc make it so enjoyable to use. Being an Android handset, I can no longer send iMessages or make FaceTime calls...but most of the people I know use WhatsApp anyway now for messages and video calls. I say...go for the ZenFone 5. For the money I think it's absolutely fantastic!! 😀

Just a heads up, ROM doesn't mean internal storage. From Wikipedia: Read-only memory (ROM) is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices. Data stored in ROM can only be modified slowly, with difficulty, or not at all, so it is mainly used to store firmware (software that is closely tied to specific hardware, and unlikely to need frequent updates) At least I can directly communicate with you through a comment since you're still a small youtuber😉

@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Thank you...appreciate the comment! I had the T5i for a few years and upgraded to the G7 last year. Autofocus isn’t very good sadly, but I manually focus everything anyway. Great camera though and I’m sure you will love it 😁👍🏻

Great review! Keep it up :) How does it perform with Snapchat? Normally with Android phones, Snapchat is never as clear or crisp as Apple devices, especially with videos and the selfie camera... Thanks!

I dont know what phone is should choose..? Honor 10 or Zenfone 5, im kinda a heavy user.
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video! Personally, I would go with the ZenFone 5. It has stereo speakers and some great AI features...plus I really like ZenUI. Don't get me wrong though, that is me personally...I'm sure not everyone would agree 😀👍🏻

Thnx for the quick reaction man! I will probably go buy the Zenfone 5, it also looks way better than Honor 10 in my opinion. +1 like!

I value a good camera,is it any good compared to its competition, $430 is a dear price, a little more would take it to one plus territory,how does the camera compare to op6? Nice video by the way.
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you for watching! I still haven’t used the OP6 yet, so I can’t tell you about the quality yet sadly. You are totally right though...it is approaching the One Plus pricing 😁
@isaiahthomas54756 жыл бұрын
where does it sell for $430? sad it's priced that high there. Where im from it only sells for $380, though ive heard india sells it for even cheaper.

This at $430 vs LG G6 at $411. G6 specs: 64/4 GB, dual hybrid sims, 1440p 18:9 no notch, wide-angle cams front and back, Quad-DAC, IP68, SD 821 Adreno 530. Basically, this years premium midranger vs last years flagship. Which one would you buy?
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Valid points Vivek. Sadly I've had massive problems with some LG products in the past, so that puts me off a bit. Good specs though 👍🏻 I also want to look at the Motorola G6 and Honor 10 😎
@vivz10006 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. Moto G6 was a big disappointment, don't know what Lenovo is thinking using old soc's and creating so many versions of a phone, which then become harder to update. Between Zenfone5 and Honor 10, to me, Zenfone 5 has more unique and useful features, and a cleaner UI. But I like my music, and that QuadDAC is really pulling me. Nice and clean video by the way. Good luck with your channel.
@LifeofTechUK6 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, I totally get where you are coming from on the audio. I guess the deciding factor for a lot of people will be a single feature such as audio, or camera quality etc. Really appreciate the kind words, thank you! 👍🏻😊

Hey, thanks for watching the video! I prefer ZenUI over MIUI, but some other features are very similar. Personally, I think I would stick with the ZenFone 5 😀
