Very good review, was thinking og buying one og theese. But ended up buying a Nokia 7 Plus for 285 USD, 1 month old. In Denmark thats the same price as a Xiaomi Redmi note 5 3/32. So I think that it was a great deal

Yen for a Zen, Ready for a Redmi, Great Review, Give me Meizu! .I blundered into a display by Sharp when I bought cheap Vkworld Mix Plus. The brightness, contrast, and color accuracy of the 720p screen made my 2k Amoled look weak ( except 100% black). My next two phones have screen by Sharp ( Umidigi S2 Lite) and I use them to set color palette on my other phones, especially whites.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro looks better plus the 5000 mAh battery and the stock android is a nice addition as well , On a personal note I miss the (stick around) video you use to post at the send of you reviews ^_^ Hope we see a battery monster smartphone comparison to test which has the best battery this year

overall Which is better? redmi note 5 or asus Zendone max pro? I am not the stock Android lover

Both are really good. Redmi Note 5 has better cams, but Zenfone has more battery. That's it

Awesome video, i was confused as buy the redmi or the asus. But after this i have decided to buy the Asus zenfone max pro. But now I'm confused whether to buy the 4GB ram variant or the 6GB one. Please help😅!

6GB one has better cameras, but that's it. I don't see a reason buying a budget chipset with 6GB RAM.

Smartphone Wars I'm not too concerned about the camera because by installing Google camera in this one, can see that there is stunning results for the pics taken even in low light. I'm leaning towards 6GB ram because most of the high end phones are starting with a base of 6GB, probably better multitasking with this one and also probably longer lasting and lag free even in the future? Not sure but please share your thoughts!

Rohith Dsouza SD636 is not equipped to handle 6GB RAM properly. Trust me, won't see any difference with 4 or 6

Thank you very much for taking your time and replying! I have one last question, I'm a very heavy user so will the SD636 suffice for me or should i go for a P60 or SD660? Consider stuff like gaming and recording those footages, will the SD636 handle it smoothly? Not a cheap investment for me and definitely would stick with it for a long time. So yeah wouldn't mind waiting for a bit if some other better devices are coming in the same budget.

Rohith Dsouza You should check out Mi 8 SE then. P60 is faster than 636 but not in gaming (apps and browsing). SD660 is still better than P60 overall.

Perhaps I'm missing something but isn't the Asus Zen phone SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the Redmi Note 5? I bought my Redmi Note 5 3GB/32GB Global Version for $US 160. As far as I can tell, the cheapest ASUS comes in at more than double that!
@SmartphoneWars6 жыл бұрын
Mmm, cheapest Redmi Note 5 is $190 (3/32) maybe you have Redmi 5 Plus instead? Zenfone Max Pro is only very cheap in India/Bangladesh. Outside that, probably more expensive than Redmi Note 5.

Smartphone Wars No. It's definitely the Redmi Note 5 with the Snapdragon 636. I bought it in a recent AliExpress sale. In fact a few days after I bought mine, I saw I could have bought it for $US 155 on Gearbest!
