ganjaextravaganza it's pretty affordable for all that it has, I can use it for a day and a half with moderate usage, the screen is bright, has a speaker and it's damn stylish, plus I can customize those extra buttons to launch any all I'd want. For Canada I'm glad we got this, cuz I originally wanted the zenwatch 1 but it wasn't available here. With this watch I can do so much more now with the speaker! :)

it's Android Wear, and yes all Android Wear watches can pair to Bluetooth headsets, and speakers. Also you can just use you voice to reply to messages or emails.

Your best review by far! Good to see improvement. No over the top remix music with flashing cut shots, decent lighting, OK mic and relevant comments. Now all you need is to feel free to wear your own style and shape up your hair nicely, people will certainly make terminator jokes and hasta la vista quotes. Or if you're into it you may get a cyborg eye. But jokes apart, that's really good to see improvements, congrats!

I find it funny how everyone think's that this, and others are crusing the Apple Watch.. however, if you are talking about hardware, the Apple Watch is just as good, if not better. Software wise, it is ten times better, and also easier to program too for developers.. with more possibilities than Android Wear has going for it. The only watch that can compete against the Apple Watch is the Gear S3, which is great and like the Apple Watch, it has a great way of navigating the menus and scrolling through (Digital Crown vs. the rotating bezel). I have owned the Apple Watch, as well as a Huawei Watch when I sold my iPhone, and have tried the Gear S3 Frontier. I am buying the Gear S3 Frontier next week. In terms of design.. it is all relative.. some people love the Apple Watch design, and mine in Space Grey aluminium with a black leather loop was awesome, and in my opinion better looking than the Huawei Watch that everyone loves.. but the Gear S3 Frontier.. Wow, that is one good looking watch.. maybe a bit big, but I like big watches.

Aleksander Hoff Hardware wise apple is years behind most of it's competitors in phones and smart watches. Software wise it also inferior missing many features and handcuffing the user. The only thing it wins at and no one can argue is optimization which is easy when you only have to make phones for a handful of in house devices. What android does is absolutely amazing and literally everything is fully customizable.

Tyler 117 everyone's preference and use is different. if it had built-in GPS and NFC it'd be a no brainer replacement for my Moto 360 and Sony Smartwatch 3. If they ever implement Android Pay through Android wear it'd be great. I use NFC to pay everywhere in London (groceries, shopping, public transport etc.) and I use it to link my Bluetooth headphones to my different devices.

Tyler 117 Economies of scale dictate that produce such large quantities of these watches, the components would literally cost a few pennies to buy and another few to implement. Apple watches offer nfc payments via apple pay so it is possible and achievable

Don't agree that less buttons would be better, what would be better would be letting you do more things with the buttons e.g. in the music app, top one skips track, middle play/pause and bottom goes back track. That way I can perform these actions without having to look at the screen.

funny, I just got into the smart watch world and picked up a used zenwatch 1 for an unbelievable price. I was expecting to be blown away with the zenwatch 3 and I was shocked there was not a lot of difference between the 1 and 3 except for calling from the watch and some other minor things.

I just don't understand why smartwatches has to come with a leather band.. many of them are so fitness oriented, and having a leather band for that is horrible. If you buy one, it should also come standard with an extra silicone band so that you can actually use that built in GPS etc. The Gear S3 Frontier is one of the few great choices out there now.. it looks better than this, and it even has a silicone band that actually looks really stylish. On my Huawei Watch, the leather band version was cheaper than the silicone one.. so I bought the leather band one, and paid 100 dollars extra for a good looking silicone band from a watch shop to fit it with.. and still went below the price I would have had to pay for the Huawei Watch with a silicone band in Norway.

I think the thing I like most about this is it's thinner profile. I couldn't care less about GPS and heart-rate monitoring as long as the watch provides a thinner profile. I have the Zenwatch 2 right now and wish it was a bit thinner. I do agree, that the price doesn't make a whole lot of sense with those extra features lacking. I can't figure why they couldn't offer this at $180 like the Zenwatch 2.

Why does everyone always want a heart rate monitor? I used to have a Samsung Gear Live and used the heart rate monitor two or three times, just when I was showing people what the watch could do. I'd rather have a bigger battery or other useful hardware than a feature like that. Granted, I'm not exactly a triathelete (though I do exercise), but really, if you want to use tech to monitor your fitness, use a Fitbit or MS Band. Or measure your pulse with your fingers and a stopwatch the old fashioned way.

I own an ASUS Zenwatch 3, costing at around 20,000 in Indian Rupees. A perfect smartwatch on paper (minus the heart rate sensor) - classy and all. Just as it went past warranty, nearly 15 months or so, the PCB having Bluetooth hardware crashed and I was left with complete brick of a watch, which won't even show time. My fault was that, after having connectivity and pairing issues for a month, I did a factory reset. Now, android wear required you to pair your watch with smartphone before you could use it. Hence, I fell into a pickle as pairing requires working Bluetooth connection, leading me with a bricked watch. I contacted ASUS and they gave me just one option - get the complete watch replaced at full cost! All my hard earned money down the drain!? I mean, when it comes to such a small motherboard, the whole thing needs to be replaced. I flashed an alternative open source OS, called Asteroid OS on it afterwards. Which doesn't support sound or sensors for Zenwatch 3 yet. Hence, I can watch time on the thing if I want, but that's pretty much it. Does anyone has any idea whether I could make it work on Wear OS 2.0? Like, is there a way to bypass pairing at watch setup screen, ANY way of getting past that screen where you need to open Wear OS app on your phone and take the setup further from there? Anyone has some sort of nandroid backup, which could restore the watch at an intermediate state after setup done? The watch is a brick without this. Any help is immensely appreciated!

Xiaomi's new Amazfit looks a tad better, more sporty and has a 6+ day battery life (a huge plus), heartrate monitor, custom OS, GPS and is cheaper. However, the display is reflective and not backlit. English version should also be available soon. Holding off for one of those instead.
