Did you putt something on the SSD ? Like a cover ? It’s seems yes// if its thermal blanket, where did you get it ?

Probably Amazon. You should be able to find them by searching "thermal pad" or something similar.

Hey, thanks for this... I'm looking to do exactly the same thing. you mention a 'comparison speed against OEM 1TB SSD'. do you have any info on this or what OEM SSD is being used. I really want to know what impact doing this will have on performance. 👍
@JorgeRosadoRN Жыл бұрын
Booting to windows is a little faster, gaming difference is insifnificant because games are not designed to take advantage of the high speeds. OEM sequential reads are about 3600mb/s vs the P5 Plus 7100mb/s based on my own experience.

I had the same problem. I bought Crucial P5 PLUS 2TB. Windows cannot initialize/load the disk. I returned the drive to the shop. I got new disk, and i have the same problem. I can not clone the disk. The "MiniTool Partition Wizard" and the shop - helped me. Now is OK.

Hello, I have the same question, if you bought thermal pads and heatsinks for ssd drives? If you bought, please...please write model/type. Im just upgrade ssd in my G14 GA402. Orginally in this laptop was Micron 1 TB, now i have Kingston KC3000 1 TB (prefect, fast and furious), but itis too small. I bought Kingston KC3000 2 TB, but this model have electronic modules on both sides. It is "dangerous" for me...for a wifi/bluetooth card. Now i bought CRUCIAL P5 PRO 2 TB (electronics modules on one side), and i have next isue - buy and put on a thermopad and heatsink/plate or not?

They come with 2 copper heat sinks and 4 pads for double sided SSDs for $10. I had to buy this after getting higher temps on my second SSD. Temps were still fine without the pads but I was a little paranoid.

Wow I almost bought the KC3000, glad I read your comment. So it does not fit because its too thick? I will buy Crucial P5 then
@waldek2030 Жыл бұрын
@@tehdreamer Yes, the KC3000 is too thick in my opinion, but... of course you will install this drive/disk in ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 GA402 if you remove some "thermapad" from the motherboard (white gel-pad; below/under the disk). Unfortunately, the electronic modules in the KC3000 (“disk memory”/RAM) are almost on top of the WI-FI/Bluetoth card. For me it is problem and Iwon't risk it. In my opinion, it's much better if you buy Crucial P5 PRO 2TB or WD Black SN850X 2TB

Question. So the Asus Zephryrus G15 GA503RM-BS71-CB-WH has 512GB SSD on default. I am trying to figure out for max storage for this particular trim model. Would you know the maximum SSD for the particular model? I just want to be safe when it comes with upgrading. Thanks
@JorgeRosadoRN Жыл бұрын
Is that the RYX 3060 model? You can upgrade by either removing the OEM drive or populating the second M.2 slot. If that model only have 8G of RAM however, I will try to prioritize updrading the RAM instead.
@xtreme8797 Жыл бұрын
@@JorgeRosadoRN yes it is RTX 3060 and according to specs, it does have 2 SSD slots. I know the maximum ram but I'm still trying to find the maximum storage though if that's the case.
@JorgeRosadoRN Жыл бұрын
You can safely install 2 SSD of 4TB each for a total of 8TB. I have tried that. More than that I am not sure because it is not listed on the specs; however, I do not see a reason not to support 8TB SSD for a total of 16TB.

I am researching this now and the Kingston website states that only SINGLE-SIDED is compatible, however, I read on reddit that someone installed double sided on their M16 Zephyrus which is very similar motherboard i believe. I think I will not risk it and go with Crucial P5, however, again, people state that it overheats alot in G15... So many getting a slower single sided 2TB Kingston NVME is a safer option as it will run cooler.
