If it is an ASVAB that you'll be taking for the first time and not a PiCAT then yes, you won't have to do a validation/verification exam. Best success to you!🙌🏼

What is APT test? I was taken the PICAT because for the study from the PICAT what I study was not in APT test?

We understand that APT is the same as a "practice test", you can take these practice tests for as long as you want to and it doesn't affect your ability to take the PiCAT or the ASVAB. What you study for the APT is the same you'd study for the PiCAT or the ASVAB.

⁠I have question Fernando I am in marine corps and I am about to retake my ASVAB or AFCT they are same thing but they called different on March 11 2024 and this is going to be my sixth attempt retaking it after I took it on august 7 2023 and I have to wait 6 month to retake it if i score high on my test let’s say I score AFQT 92 and GT score is 120 and my current asvab score is 47 with GT score 104 is it true that I don’t have to take the confirmation test because it been more than six month?

That is correct. Since you have waited 6 months to retake the test, you won't have to take the confirmation exam. Also keep in mind that there's an exemption on the confirmation test until September 30, 2024.

So this happened to me today. I did 3 ASVABs (within the month time frame in between) with a score of 33, 41, and 61. Because I scored high on my third attempt, I need to do a confirmation test. My question is, do I calculate my most recent score with my last score (2nd attempt) to find the average score to keep my 61? Or is it the average of my first two attempts?

Thank you for your question; it'd be the be the average between the last 2 attempts. 41+61=102/2 it is 51, so you need to score above 51 in order to keep your 61.

My friend got a 13, then she scored on 38. She needs to confirm. What happens if she scores a little higher on the confirmation (lets says 42)? Will she get the 42 or just confirm the 38?

Hi Joseph, the confirmation is for the second score she got, in this case, if she scores 42 in the confirmation, the final score will be 38 (she confirmed that score).

If you fail the PICAT Verification and the ASVAB, you will need to wait 30 day to retake the ASVAB. If you pass the ASVAB after failing, and the difference between the previous score and the new one is greater than 20, you will be asked to confirm the score. However, if it is after 6 month, you will not have to take a confirmation test.

Question? My first Asvab was 29 Afqt My second was 20 points more than 29 they said it was about 50 + So I needed a confirmation. I did the confirmation and I failed. Hi, I don't know your specific case, but if you failed an ASVAB confirmation then you have to wait 6 months. Consult your recruiter but if it was a failed ASVAB confirmation it's 6 months wait which means next time you take it you won't have to confirm regardless of what score you pass with. If it's a failed picat verification then it's 1 month But just ask your recruiter please, it is simpler because he knows what exactly you took.

Actually they told me Confirmation doesn’t count as the third Asvab so I still have an oportunity to do another one in one month. But if again I scored more than 20 points from the previous I will need another confirmation then if I failed that time I will have to wait 6 months to do another Asvab

I see, well it is best to talk and follow your recruiter's instructions as he has your case and knows what you've taken. But generally if you fail an ASVAB confirmation it will be a 6 months waiting time. If you fail a PICAT verification then it' will be a 1 month waiting time. Best success to you!

Difficulty is relative. Someone who studied and prepared themselves will find things easier, when compared to someone who didn't study and prepare themselves. A confirmation test is a full length test; meaning all sections. But all of this is of little importance, just study and do your best.

Fernando I have question I just retook my asvab on Monday and I score AFQT 60 with GT 109 and was told I have take confirmation test if I score higher than 60 let say a 78 with GT score 120 will I kept the new high score or will I kept the 60 AFQT and 109 GT score?

We also encourage you to contact your recruiter and ensure whether you need to take the confirmation or not; as far as we understand, the waiver is still on and there is no need to confirm. It depends the time that has passed between both tests, the version of the test will not affect it. If your score of 50 was more than 6 months ago then you will not need to take a confirmation. Nevertheless, your recruiter will let you know if it’s required.

The confirmation is a full ASVAB. So it would count as taking the ASVAB one more time. In that confirmation, you have to score more than half the points that result from adding the first test score to the second test score and dividing the total by 2 (average score). So as you scored 27 the first time and then 49 (27 + 49 = 76/2 = 38) you need to score above 38 on the confirmation in order to confirm the 49.

I took the confirmation test and i took a total of 3 times of test and adding confirmation its the 4th exam i took. my first score was 12 and the 2nd score was 23 and 3rd score was 77 and the confirmation score was 50. I calculated the way you showed through this video, (23+77)/2=50 so confirmation score is 50, is this a pass or a fail? in this video you said 35 more than so is this starting rom 35 or 36? I was very confused. I am sorry you are having that experience. To my understanding when you take the confirmation you are only told if you confirmed or if you didn't confirm. From what I've been told nobody should tell you the exact score or points of the confirmation test but only if you confirmed or not and if you stay with the previous ASVAB score or not. So I think if you were told that you did not confirm then that's what the system is saying, so that 50 is either not the average of your scores or its not the actual score you got on the confirmation test. In any case I do hope that things work out for your benefit and you get to understand exactly what happened in your case. Ask your recruiter to clarify this to you. Take care

@@review_asvab_iq_eng thank you for replying back to all my messages, and I live in Dallas Texas and that's where I took the exams, 1 week ago I took a retest exam and got 77 which they gave me a report paper saying that.so that was so high that I had to get confirmation test, and they gave me asvab test score report paper saying the score which was 50. Even my recruiter said I didn't pass so he told me to wait 6 months to retest again... having to do a confirmation test is to me k feel like it's very unfair to those who really tried hard to pass. And my recruiter said don't worry about the confirmation test that it shouldn't effect me in Anyway and than getting this bad news is very frustrating and alot of emotions hitting me at once. What score do you keep when verifying the test

You will keep the original score. For example, if you score a AFQT 70 in the PICAT and pass the verification, your final score will be AFQT 70. In case of a confirmation exam, it's the same. If you scored 19 the first time and then 87 (19+87 = 106 / 2 = 53) you would need to score above 53 on the confirmation in order to confirm the 87.

Hi, I understand. Keep in mind that in the verification examn you will get from 20 to 30 questions that are very similar to the ones you were given in the PiCAT. How you answered on the PiCAT is how you should answer on the verification test. You should answer as you did in your PiCAT, that is, if you answered the question of a topic correctly, then it is assumed that now in the verification you should be able to also answer it correctly. If you answered something incorrectly in the PiCAT it is assumed that you will answer it incorrectly in the verification. The key is to respond as you did in your PiCAT. Best success to you!

Hi, If you scored let's say 75 on your PiCAT and then you complete and approve the verification test, then you'll keep your 75 AFQT. Now, if you scored 75 in the PiCAT and during the verification exam you get an ASVAB by the system, whatever you score in that ASVAB will be your final AFQT. Hope that clarifies your question.

In the verification, they will give you 20 to 30 questions that are very similar to the ones you were given today in the PiCAT. They will most likely the ones you answered correctly. The main goal of the verification is to determine if the applicant did not cheat. So you should answer exactly as you did in your PiCAT.
