Hello, I’m a girl and I wanted to know if I got something the other night. I got oral herpes for the first time 2 months ago. I know because I saw scabs for a week. About 2 days ago, I had tiny oral sore on my bottom lip. I shaved near my lip that was next to that cold sore. About 7 hours later, I washed that same razor with soap and shaved down there quickly Saturday night. Within 20 minutes of shaving, I got small cuts & what looked like small open sores right after & I’ve never seen it like that down there. Hurt to pee right after too. It was like that for 2 hours. Then I went to sleep for about 3 hours & when I woke up, it didn’t hurt to pee, and things looked normal down there again. It’s been about 2 days & I never saw any scabbing, still looks normal down there. Can genital herpes symptoms only last for about 3 hours & then go away? Could the razor I used to shave near my oral herpes or just shaving down there have given me genital herpes? Is it possible I infected myself with genital herpes from the oral herpes I have?

If you washed the razor with a soap and warm water, the virus died in the process. It doesn't sound likely you have transmitted herpes that way to yourself down there. It could very well be you got some razor bumps.

By the way, thank you for your channel, I subscribed to it and watched many videos. You're really strong and inspiring with a happy life. Also just for my knowledge, I have 2 questions. Can genital herpes symptoms last for 3 hours and then go away or do they last longer than that? Not sure if it's different for each person or if it lasts longer for everyone. I read online the symptoms last days but I don't know how true that is with peoples real personal experiences. And my 2nd question is, when you have genital herpes symptoms, do they always scab at some point or are there sores,cut that don't scab at all?

It could last for only a few hours, and since everybody is different, we all get different symptoms. OB can look like a papercut, bug bite, pimple, etc. So, it's very possible, but of course we cannot say for sure what you're experiencing.

during a flare-up if it gets on your clothes when you watch your clothes can they spread it to the other clothes being washed?

No, if you wash your clothes, the soap and warm water will already kill the virus.

After sex, can friction cause outbreak? I was fine and hours later I feel and see possible open slits around opening of my vagina. We used condom, I’m on Valtrex, my first time having sex in a year. 😩 wondering if it’s from friction or am I overreacting. I don’t get outbreaks that I know of

come to find out, i got hsv swab was ngative but BV positive, apparently HSV2 has high prevelance with BV infection, i have recurrent BV infection @@lifewithherpes

No, not really. In rare cases, as any virus, it can be dangerous, like if it gets in your eye, or if your immune system is compromised, but complications are rare. You can live very normal life with herpes.
